ander Pentland and Ada
Augustine were married at
the home of the bride's
parents on the fourth conces-
sion of Ashfield Township.
Eighty years later, 66 of
their descendants, including
wives, and husbands, held a
family reunion at Brookside
School in honor of the 75th
birthday and 45th wedding
anniversary of Benson
Pentland and wife Rhena.
The family ranged in age
from 79 to a one -year-old
great -grand -granddaughter.
Twenty-six members of
the family were not able to
be present.
The afternoon was spent in
visiting and getting ac-
quainted with members of
the family who live at a
distance. The supper was
catered and was much en-
joyed by all.
Family reunions are fun
but there is always some
sadness when those who are
gone forever are
remembered.

After a month drought in
the St. Helen's area we
finally received rain this past
week. Most of the storms in
the area had been passing
either to the north or south of
Village. Most farmers were
glad of this because these
storms caused even more
damage to the poor crops this
year.
