Howald - Cartwright
St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Kimberley, B.C. was the
setting for the marriage of Richard Howald and Tracy
Cartwright of Calgary, Alberta on May 21, 1983. Rev. Ed
Millen officiated. The bride is the daughter of Bill and
Margaret Cartwright of Kimberley and the groom is the son
of Ida Howald of Lucknow. Patty Rose of Calgary was maid of
honour and bridesmaids were Cathy Gies of Hamilton and
Laura Anderson of Calgary. Jason Ramak of Kimberley was
ring bearer. Greg Hamilton of Calgary was best man and
Greg Dubois of Calgary and Jim Eskerick of Calgary ushered
guests. The couple honeymooned in Lucknow where they
attended Jamboree '83 before returning to Calgary where
they will reside.

and their family spent the
weekend attending a Dickie
family picnic at Hope Bay.

of Roebuck. and Mrs.
Lulo Throop of Prescott. He
was predeceased by a sister
and a brother Mary, Mrs.
George Dukelow and Arnold
Goodin.
The first funeral service
was held on Tuesday morn-
ing in Oakville. Then his re-
mains were taken to
Spencerville in Eastern On-
tario where on Tuesday
evening visitation and a
Masonic service were held in
the Purcell Funeral Home.
The second funeral service
was held in the Spencerville
United Church at 1 p.m. on
Wednesday, June 15. Inter-
ment followed in Union
Cemetery, Goodin Road.
Dick was a native of the
village of Spencerville and
over the years he made fre-
quent trips back and kept in
touch with the folks there.
While Mr. and Mrs. Goodin
had their home in Oakville
they spent the summers at
their Bruce Beach cottage
just south of Poplar Beach at
the foot of the Tenth Conces-
sion in Huron Township. In
fact about ten years ago
Dick grew four different
kinds of potatoes at his cot-
tage and all four won prizes
at the Royal Winter Fair that
year. From the cottage he
visited friends here each
summer and also made trips
back and forth to Oakville
often over a dozen times in a
summer.

Mr. and Mrs. Fred Guest
spent Sunday at Kitchener
where they attended a family
picnic. Pauline, who has
been holidaying with rela-
tives returned home.
Mrs. Bob Brooks, Bradley
and Bevan of Listowel, visit-
ed with Winnifred Percy, Bill
and Brian Percy, during the
week.

Attend Needham picnic on Sunday
The Community Centre
continues to be busy as the
Needham picnic was held
there on Sunday. Melissa
Logtenberg spent a few days
with Jim and Fran Farrell.
On Sunday, the Farrell's
were dinner guests of Mr.
and Mrs. Dirk Logtenberg,
Dungannon.
Frank Bragg, Inverhuron,
had supper with Brenda and
John MacDonald on Satur-
day. Don and Sandra Forster
visited the MacDonald's on
Saturday night.

swarm of bees from a fence
post at Doug MacDonald's -

in Ripley last week with
Grandpa and Grandma Mac-

Lea and Lyn Minden, have
been visiting June and Earl

joined in the celebration Sun-
day at Kinlough Anglican
Church in honour of Edna
Boyle's 70th anniversary as
church organist. Congratula-
tions, Edna.
The Bible Study group met
at Anne McCosh's on Tues-
day.
On Thursday, Mr. and
Mrs. John Meakin and Jen-
ny, Ruth Van Rooyen, Ian
Elliott, John and Joyce Far-
rell, and girls, Dick McCosh,
enjoyed a picnic supper with
Don and Anne McCosh at
their trailer.
Get well wishes are ex-
tended to Mike Kukoly,
Kitimat, who is a patient in
hospital.
A successful bazaar held
by Bervie W.I. was enjoyed
by the Grove ladies, who at-
tended.
