He suffered facial laceration s but no broken bones. He is in London for treatment of in- ternal bruises. News on the Ripley part in the Lucknow Jamboree and the Point Clark Kinsmen fireworks on Friday evening and their dance on Saturday evening in the Ripley Com- plex will appear next week. Visiting over the weekend with Mrs. Violet MacKenzie were two nieces, Barbara Perry of Birmingham, Michigan and Mrs. Nancy White Thomes of Huntsville, Alabama. Also son, Lorne MacKenzie of Unionville. Sympathy is extended to Margaret Machan of Kincar- dine at this time. Her mother passed away in Wingham Hospital last Wednesday evening and the funeral was in Wingham last Friday. JOHN W. JOHNSON On Sunday afternoon June 26, 1983 John W. Johnson of Ripley died in the Louise Marshall Hospital in Mount Forest in his 81st year. The funeral service was held on Tuesday afternoon last week (June 28) in the Hendrick Funeral Chapel in Mount Forest at 2 p.m. Burial followed in the family plot in rM PLACE eur..sEuDf ORREN! He leaves to mourn his passing his second wife Evelyn Johnson of Ripley, his two daughters Kay, Mrs. Murray Regan of RR 6 ,Mount Forest and Donna, Mrs. Thompson of Hillsburg, also two sisters Madge, Mrs. Doug Helwig of Southamp- ton and Maisie, Mrs. Jim Ebel of Walkerton and one brother Hugh Johnson of Walton. Predeceased by his first wife and by his brother Andy a few months ago. Both are buried in Hillsburg. Jack was raised on the family farm northwest of Walkerton. After attending the Walkerton High School he was employed at the well known Skelton Memorial works making tombstones there. During the Second World War Jack was in the Canadian army and served overseas. For a time he homesteaded in Alberta out from Edmonton and he also farmed in the Guelph area. In 1977 Jack and Evelyn Johnson moved to Ripley from Vanastra south of Clin- ton. Here he has been a member of the Ripley Legion Branch 440 weekly card playing at the Legion hall was one of his hobbies. Also Jack had great interest in horses and horse racing. Here he was a friend often helping with chores.
