Lucknow, Ontario, was so named by James Somerville in 1858,
also known as "The Sepoy Town" and derived from the fact that
Sepoy Indians loyal to the British in 1857, helped the 93rd free
1600 Europeans and quell the uprising in Lucknow, India.
The Village was settled mainly by Pioneers from Scotland around
the 1840s and bearing proud Clan names such as - MacDougall,
MacKenzie, Macintosh, etc.
Visitors wishing to trace their "roots" to this area, would be well
ads iced to walk through the Pioneer Cemetery at South Kinloss
Church.

Welcome hack to Lucknow to our one hundred and twenty-fifth
Jamboree.
We are looking forward to this get-together when we renew old
friendships and rekindle the memories related to our birth place.
During ',our visit here, you will he impressed with our health
care Centres.
Our new Communis Centre and added recreational facilities
denote progress.
Sanitary sewers in the 'downtown core area are on the agenda.
When completed, it will open up the area for future new business,
institutional and housing sites, pertinent to growth.
The people of Lucknow are proud of their community. They will
not let it die. They will protect it together, for a better and greater
tomorrow.
