Blake reunion
The 1983 Blake Reunion
was held on Sunday, June 12
in the Seaforth Park with 52
in attendance.
After an enjoyable lunch,
everyone joined in a lively
game of baseball. This went
very well despite the sun's
penitrating rays of heat.
Around 3 o'clock, Marion
Johnstone conducted some
fun -filled games and relays.
The prize for guessing the
number of candies in the jar
went to Ralph Morrison with
76.

Relays: Gather the items,
was won by Joanne Pent -
land's team and, add up the
numbers was won by Jo-
Anne Morrison's team. Priz-
es for the oldest person
present went to Gordon
Johnstone, youngest present
was Jason Pentland; closest
anniversary was June 4th
won by Gordon and Phyllis
Morrison.
After a delicious supper,
president Lloyd Morrison led
the business meeting with
Kay Morrison reading the
minutes and the expense
account, A minute of silence
was observed in memory of
departed members.
The election of officers
were as follows: president,
Allan Webster; vice presid-
ent, Jini Pentland; secretary
treasurer, Kay Morrison;
and sports, the Ritchie fam-
ily.
It was decided the 1984
Blake Reunion would be held
on the second Sunday in
June in the Stratford Park.
Outdoor service
The Sunday School and
congregation of Lucknow
Presbyterian Church held
their annual outdoor service
and picnic on Sunday, June
26 at 11 a.m.
Robert Henderson q the
saxophone and Dale Gilchrist
at the piano played a musical
prelude.
Michelle Johnston gave
the call to worship. The
prayer of invocation was
taken by Jonathon Nelson.
Alesha Moffat, Tammy Nea-
ble and Jennifer Cranston
chorally led in the responsive
reading of Psalm 23.
Jason Cameron read the
Old Testament scripture
frons the hook of Jonah and
Luke Cranston gave the New
Testament reading from
Matthew 12. Jackie Wilson
led in a pastoral prayer.
The children's choir sang,
.Jesus Loves Me. Praise Him,
and i've Got the Joy. An-
nouncements were read by
Jackie Wilson and Luke
Cranston. An offering was
taken by Mae Raynard,
Dianne Wilson, Wayne For-
ster and Dan Gilchrist.
Mrs. Ramsay effectively
presented the story of Jonah
in a flannelgraph presenta-
tion and challenged each to
spread the Gospel to others.
She gave the benediction to
close the service.
Lunch followed in the
basement and games, con-
tests and relays were enjoyed
later. In spite of the heat
there was good participation
by those present. In the
races, children under 5 was
won by Craig Moffat; 5 to 6
year olds was won by Alesha
Moffat; 7 and 8 year olds,
Brock Raynard, Several gam-
es and contests were con-
ducted with prizes awarded.
Ritchie picric
The annual Ritchie picnic
was held .lune 26. 1983 at
Ashfield Park sponsored by
Leonard. Bcrnadean and
family.
A barbecue dinner was
held around I o'clock with
Doug Aitchison doing the
cooking.
The younger children en-
joyed the swings, teeter
totters and sand pile.
At 3.30 p.m. games were
conducted by Elizabeth Irvin
and Nancy Aitchison.
Winners of the games
included races 2 and under,
Jill Aitchison. Daryl Aitchi-
son and .Jacqueline Pentland;
K to 10, Nancy Aitchison.
Lorri Aitchison and Jennifer
Dclrymplc: .lack Aitchison's
team won hanging clothes on
the line; ice cube game.
Murray Irvin and Jack Aitch-
ison teams tied: kick the
slipper for children. Nancy
Aitchison. Lorri Aitchison
and Jennifer Dclrvmple tied.
Tonia Delryniple; ladies kick
the slipper. Joanne Pent-
land, Nancy Aitchison. Eaiza-
beth Irvin: Hien kick ,the
slipper. Clarence Ritchie.
Lorne Ritchie. Leonard Rit-
chie; guessing how many
beans in a jar. Jim Pentland.
Peanut sera. ,hle for the
children was great excite-
ment.
A smorgasbord supper
was enjoyed at 5 o'clock.
This was a lovely sunny
day with a good breeze and
all enjoyed a good visit.
It was decided to have the
picnic next year at the same
place on the fourth Sunday in
June with Mervin. Mac and
fancily in charge.
