noon she had the misfortune
of falling at her front door
and suffering a painful in-
jury to her right arm. At sup-
pertime her husband Larry
who had returned from work
drove her to Kincardine
hospital. The x-rav film
showed a broken bone in her
right forearm. Dr. Knox
placed a plaster cast on it
and she is able to continue at
the store.
Shelly is the daughter of
Harold and Shirley Galloway
and the granddaughter of
Fred and Mary Brooks of the
Eighth Concession.
The ladies of the Ripley
Women's Institute held their
annual tea, bake sale and
raffle last week in the Ripley
Legion Hall to raise funds for
the Kincardine and District
Hospital Auxiliary. The In-
stitute ladies express their
thanks to the Legion- for
donating the use of the hall
for the event, also to all who
made donations of time acid
materials for the success of
the afternoon.
The tea was again conven-
ed by Minnie Lock and her
conunittee Anniczk, Culbert,
Peg Chappelle, Sadie
Mcleod, Margaret Gemmell
and Institute president
Donalda Mclean who also
received at the door. The
tables were attractively
decorated with peonies
floated in bowls, courtesy of
Elizabeth Fair.
Last Wednesday afternoon
Oraen Rock brought
upstreet a weasel which he
and his wife Doris had been
able to kill around noon. It
was an almost certain threat
to their bantams.
The Huron Bruce Arts and
Crafts Incorporated Com-
mittee met at the home of
Marion and Oliver Me-
('harles in Kincardine to
make plans for the July 29
and 30 Ripley ('raft Show.
The enthusiasm of the in-
terested craftsmen is aIllaz-
ing. Many new people have
asked to be included in this
well known Arts, ('rafts and
Antiques show and sale. The
now established quilt auction
is also drawing more atten-
tion iIS shown by the increas-
ed number of quilts entered.
The committee is well. pleas-
ed with all areas of the up-
coming show.
Last Wednesday evening,
Oliver and Marion Mc -
Charles along with friends
Sara and Eldon Russell all of
Kincardine returned home
from a three day trip to
Eastern Ontario.
It was a busy time in
Ripley last weekend over at
the high school auditorium
on successive nights there
were graduation ceremonies
- on Thursday evening, June
23 for Grade 8 students and
on Friday evening, June 24
the commencement exer-
cises for the different grades
in the high school.
About eleven thirty on Fri-
day evening the Ripley fire
siren sounded and a number
of firemen attending these
dances had to rush to the fire
hall. A car parked at the foot
-of the eighth - Bruce Beach
was the cause.

On Saturday evening the
50th wedding anniversary
dance for Murdock and
Evelyn McDonald of
Lucknow and formerly of the
second concession west in
Huron 'Township was held in
the Ripley Complex
John Johnson of Ripley
who has been visiting with
his daughter Mrs. Murray
Regasn in the Mount Forest
area died in the Louise Mar-
shall Hospital there ori Sun-
day afternoon. Sympathy is
extended to his wife Evelyn
Johnson at this time.
Neighbour and friend here,
Jack was in his 81st year. At
this time of writing the
funeral arrangements are
incomplete.
The Ripley -Huron
Veterinary Clinic has ex-
panded its staff again this
year. Dr. Donald J. Hodgins
and Dr. Kenneth L. Bridge
welcome the addition of Dr.
Rae D. Worden as an
associate to their clinic. Dr.
Worden graduated in 1981
with honours, has two years'
experience as • a mixed
animal clinician with em-
phasis on dairy herd health,
He also took the Babson
Brothers course in Chicago,
I11. for milk line analysis.
Also at the clinic for the
summer is Robert Wonypac -
a final year student from
O.V.C. on the externship pro-
gram. Helping Gail Miller in
the office is Debbie Steven-
son of the south line.
