Fetje de Boer celebrates 80th birthday
Fetje de Boer of Lucknow celebrated her 80th birthday on
June 20.
Her family held a surprisc birthday party at Brookside
Public School on Sunday, June 19 in her honour. A native of
Holland. she emigrated to Canada with her husband, Symon
and their family in 1954. They farmed at St. Helens until
retiring to Lucknow in 1969. Her husband passed away in
1974. Mrs. de Boer has a family of seven children, 36
grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. She is a member
cif the Lucknow United Church, the church choir, and United
Church Women and a former member of the St. Helens
Women's Institute. She received many best wishes and
congratulations from relatives, family and friends and a
message of congratulations from Huron -Bruce MPP,

Walkfor missionaries
The C.A.s of the Kinlough
group planned an 18 mile
walk-a-thon to MacGregor's
Point, near Port Elgin, to
raise money for missionaries
in the foreign countries. The
walk took place on Friday,
June 24:
They left the small village
of Tiverton at 9.10 a.m. and
walked and walked until they
reached their destination
which was at approximately
4.15 p.m.
Participants in this walk
were Pastor Christensen,
Laura Dahmer, Laura Stan-
ley, Ossie Falden, Karey
Coughlin, Karen MacDon-
ald, Jody Edwards and Con -
Mary Ann Ritchie, daughter
of Clarence and Alice Rit-
chie, Lucknow, graduated on
Friday, June 17, 1983, from
Fanshawe College of Applied
Arts and Technology in the
Professional Secretarial
course. She was placed on
the Dean's Honour Roll and
received the I.B.M. Canada
Award. She Is employed in
the law firm of Claude Pensa
and Associates of London.

\\ here they flew hack to their
home in Seattle, Washing-
ton.

Vanessa join in the last few
miles. The food and drink
suppliers were Linda Linde
and Mrs. Christensen. Art
Breckles set up . the camp
which some loved to see after
such a long walk. Tent
trailers were supplied by
Rennie Stanley and Art
Breckles.
The total amount of money
raised was approximately
$689.00. The. group apprec-
iates all those who helped
them and encouraged them
to go on.
