Legionnaires offense slips
Legionnaires offense was
stalled again as it could only
produce one run in a 4 - 1 loss
to the Chesley Texaco's on
Wednesday night.
Eric Weatherall went the
distance for the Texaco's
allowing just four hits, walk-
ing three and striking out
twelve. Ray Cranston went
the distance for the Legion-
naires allowing eight hits,
walking one and striking out
two.
Chesley scored an earned
run in the top of the fourth as
Middleton reached first on
an error and was driven in by
a triple by Hammill. Luck -
now tied the score quickly in
the bottom of the fourth.

and reached second as Doug

Wayne scored the Legion-
naire's only run on a passed
ball. Chesley scored singles
in the fifth, seventh and
eighth innings to finish the
scoring for the 4 - 1 win.
The Legionnaires have
now lost their last four
games. The offense has
slumped as the team average
is only .174 in the last four
games. Lucknow had its op-
portunity to score but could
not get the hits needed.
Legionnaires left Keith
Raymond and Pete Chisholm
on third, leading off the sixth
and seventh innings. But the
next three batters were retir-
ed by the Texaco's.
With teens drivers at the
wheel, tires often scream
their treads off.
