Special services at Kinlough churches...

All of the village churches
held special services on Sun-
day.
The Presbyterian congre-
gation had their 120th anni-
versary with their minister
Reverend Robert Shaw in
charge of both services. The
special choir music was
under the director of the
organist, Mrs. William Mac-
Pherson.
The Pentecostal congrega-
tion held a service of thanks-
giving for Mr. and Mrs. Wil-
liam Haldenby's 60th wed-
ding anniversary, in charge
of Reverend M. Christensen.
The Anglican congregation
had the narish service when
Lucknow and Ripley church
families united with Kin -
lough as they do each fifth
Sunday.
The hymn of Thanksgiving
for the Anglicans in Missions
was sung and the Reverend
Philip Ruch expressed sin-
cere thanks to all those who
took a part in this Missionary
Outreach.
Linda and Lisa Evans of
Erin spent the weekend with
Mr. and Mrs. Bert Nicholson
and Lois.
Weekend visitors with
Mrs. Maretta Hodgins and
Darryl were Mr. and Mrs.
Kenneth Hodgins and the
girls of Niagara Falls, Mrs.
Loder and Keith Hodgins of
Hanover, Mr. and Mrs. Bill
Burt and Terry Burt, Mr. and
Mrs. Ezra Stanley of Luck -

The second meeting of the
Lucknow Calf Club was held
at Barry Elliott's home on
May 11. Eleven members
including a new member,
Casey Hendricks, attended.
Members judged a class of
three-year-old dairy cows
,followed by the official plac-
ing by leader, Ken Mewhin-
ney.
Guest speaker Jane Dins-
more of the Howberry Horse-
men 4-H Horse Club instruc-
ted the member on juding
horses. Hugh Sinnamon
provided the horse.
Following a discussion of
various upcoming events, the
members enjoyed a lunch
and Carol Rintoul thanked
the host and hostess.
Largest used
book sale
Huron County's largest
used booksale will be held at
Memorial Hall, Blyth on Sat-
urday, June 4 and Sunday,
June 5, sponsored by the
Blyth Centre for the Arts.
Donations of used paper-
backs, hardcover books, chil-
dren's books and magazines
will help raise funds for the
operation of the Blyth Sum-
mer Festival.
In addition to the sale of
books there will be the added
treat of readings by Edna
Stabler, author of Food That
Really Schmecks and More
Food That Really Schmecks
and Harry J. Boyle, who's
hooks on growing up in
Huron county in the 1920s
were adapted as Mostly in
Clover, the first play produc-
ed by the Blyth Summer
Festival in 1975. A musical
concert by Merrick Jarrett
will also he featured as well
as an art show by local
v,wcavers and potters.
A hook sale sponsored by
the Friends of Blyth and the
Blyth Festival Singers will be
held both days and a lunch
counter will he set up for
refreshments.
There is no admission
charge to the hook sale which
runs from 10 - b on Saturday
and 11 - 5 on Sunday.
Carl McClenaghan visited in
Exeter with Eileen Parker.
On June 9 Mr. and Mrs.
Rod Lamb are hosting the
Sunday School teachers of
the Presbyterian Church.
Mr. and Mrs. Gordon

Kitchener spent the weekend
with her parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Bill Rintoul.
Mr. and Mrs. Paul Laid-
