Attend Bluevale church supper

Several from here attend-
ed the United Church supper
at Bluevale on Wednesday
evening.
Mr. and Mrs. Dawson
Craig of Auburn were callers
Wednesday evening on Mr.
and Mrs. Victor Emerson.
A congregational meeting
was held Wednesday even-
ing at the United Church
with a good group in attend-
ance.
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Wilkins,
Kimberley and Bobby of List-
owel visited Saturday even-
ing with his mother, Mrs.
Doris Wilkens.
George Lubbers is still a
patient in Wingham hospital
but is improving. The village
wishes him a most speedy
recovery.
Chalmers Presbyterian
Church celebrates its 119th
anniversary with services on
Sunday, June 5 at 11 a.m.
and 8 p.m. Guest preacher
will be Rev. Lloyd Murdock
of Nova Scotia, a former
preacher here.
Guests with Mr. and Mrs.
Bill Purdon on the weekend
were Mr. and Mrs. Donald
Gaunt, Jennifer and Graeme
of Chatham and on Sunday
Mrs. Ed Carey of Kitchener.
Mr. France had a tool
house delivered on Saturday
to his home, the former Art
Burrows home.
We are pleased to report
that Hazel Purdon, during
her stay with her daughter,
Mrs. Gordon Rintoul, has
enjoyed fairly good health.
Little Sara Speiran of
Brussels spent the weekend
with her grandparents, Mr.
and Mrs. Gordon Rintoul,
while her parents attended 'a
banquet.
Visitors with Cassie Mow-
bray on the weekend were
Mr. and Mrs. Relison Fal-
coner and Brian Falconer and
friends of Sarnia.
Last week Lucknow School
Concert Band, of which Kim
Laidlaw and Tony Falconer
are members, were on a bus
trip and played at London,
Tillsonburg and Simcoe.
Mr. and Mrs. Hector Pur -
don of London spent the
weekend with Mr. and Mrs.
Angus Falconer.
Bradley Smith of Royal
Roads Military College, Vic-
toria, B.C. visited on Mon-
day with his grandparents,
Mr. and Mrs. Russel Chap-
man. From here, Bradley
had to go to New Brunswick
for artillery training.

Mrs. Ron McGuire attend-
ed a Legion meeting in
Walkerton on Sunday after-
noon. Chris and Scott spent
the day with their grandpar-
ents, Mr. and Mrs. Jack
McGuire, Brian and Rob.
A large crowd attended the
stag and doe which was held
recently for Carolyn McDon-
ald and Courtney Liddle.
Their wedding will take place
in June.
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Bennett
and family of London spent
the weekend at their home

A pleasant social time was
enjoyed by all on this happy
occasion.

the evening and later a
delicious lunch was served
by the hostess. May opened
her many cards and presents
and thanked all who had
attended. Those attending

granddaughter. All enjoyed
the evening.
As i have now moved to
Teeswater this will be the
last edition of the Langside
News I will be writing. I hope
someone else will take the
Langside News over as it

moved away seem to enjoy

paper. 1 wish to thank all who
have helped in any way with
the column which I have
written for at least ten years,
1 am not sure just when I
started. Like others, 1 will

of Langside in the weekly
papers.
