Kinlough church burns mortgage
The first Kinlough Pente-
costal Church was started in
1937. In the years that
followed, the little church
was so crowded it was neces-
sary to consider building a
new and larger church.
In 1976 the new church
was completed and opened
with Rev. G. VanSligtenhorst
pastoring. Mr. Bob Foreman
of Walkerton was the archi-
tect of this lovely church.
On Sunday, May 22, 1983
the Kinlough Pentecostal
Church held a special service
to observe the burning of the
mortgage. Approxin.ately
152 people were present for
this momentous day.
Pastor Marvin Christensen
welcomed visitors from Luck -
now, Wingham, Harriston,
Kincardine, Forest, Court -
right, Ripley, Toronto, South
Port, Walkerton, Milton,
Thamesford and Holland.
Special music was enjoyed
from the "New Hope Sing-
ers", Kincardine and Peter
Scheurwater, R. R. 2, Tees -
water.
Pastor Christensen asked
the following people to come
forward to assist in the
mortgage burning, Bill Hal-
denby, Kinlough; Walter

One Another.
After Pastor Christensen
said the blessing, everyone
went to the fellowship hall
downstairs where the ladies
served lunch. Special cakes
were served which were
decorated accordingly for
this special day by Herman
Lanting, Kinlough.
At 7.30 p.m. everyone
returned for a special even-
ing service. Special music
was supplied by Pastor
Thirsk and his family and
Connie Lanting, Kinlough.
The guest speaker was form-
er Pastor, Rev. L. Thirsk,
Komoka. His text was Gala-

Life.
Sandwiches and coffee
were served in the fellowship
hall following the service. It
