Lucknow CGIT entertain at tea party
The CGIT entertained their mothers, secret prayer mothers
and adopted grandmothers tit a tea party on May 9. Brenda

Students win first
at music festival
Students from Lucknow
Central Public School and
Kinloss Central Public
School won the following at
the Walkerton Music Pestiv•
al early in May,
Gordon Cayley's grade 5
placed second for grade 5
classes, singing The Ash
Grove; Dawn Bushell placed
second for girls six and
under, singing Shepherd's
Song; Betty Anne Elphick's
grade one class placed first
for grade 1 classes singing,
The Elves Dance; Lana Craig
placed first for girls 11 and
under singing, Galway Piper;
Tracy Steer placed second for
girls 12 and under singing,
Thorny Roses and Sean
Wolfe placed first and Perry
Sheppard placed second for
boys eight and under singing

Lucknow CGIT girls enter-
tained their mothers, secret
prayer mothers and adopted
grandmothers at a Tea Party
on May 9. Dianne Wilson
welcomed the ladies and
introduced the leaders. Each
girl introduced her guests.
Leader Laura Lee Cayley
thanked leaders and parents
and gave some highlights of
the CGIT year. The secret
prayer mothers were thanked
and leader Barb Willits and
her mother, Mildred Loree
sang, For You 1 Am Praying.
Leader Lynne McDougall
thanked the girls and adopt-
ed grandmothers for their
visits. The CGIT sang for
their guests.
Bev Thompson read,
Lucky is The Woman With
Daughters, by Marjorie Hol-
mes, Christine Gibson read a
prayer and Carol Ferguson
led in a litany based on
Romans 12: 6 - 8,
Attendance prizi.s were
presented to Brenda Gibson
and Bonnie Henderson. The
Friendship Badge was ex-
plained and those receiving it
for completing their first
Mission Study were Heather
Priestap, Lisa Collyer, Deb-
bie Atkinson and Cindy
Struthers.
Julie Clarke explained the
white lanyard which was
presented to seniors, Dianne
Wilson, Julie Davies, Carol
Ferguson, Christine Gibson,
Julie Clarke and bonalda
Thompson, bonalda read a
poem for senior members,
Brenda Davies was hon-
oured on her CG 1T Gradua-
tion, She gave some high-
lights of her years in CGIT,
She was presented with a gift
from the Lucknow U.C,W. by
president, Anna May Hunter
and her graduation diploma
and pin by Julie Davies.
Ailene Bradley thanked
the CGIT and after the CGIT
purpose, everyone joined in
singing Taps.
Catherine .Andrew receives
Arthritis Bluebird pin
On May 10, 1983 the
captains of the Lucknow and
District Athritis Society met
at the home of the chairman,
Catherine Andrew to plan
for the annual campaign to
be held September 6 - 17.
Former Field Representa-
tive of Blue Water Region,
Jane Trnayskis, introduced
the new representative,
Mary Ouse of Guelph. The
Arthritis Society has been
very fortunate to have such
dedicated and enthusiastic
Field Representatives. The
Lucknow Branch will miss
Jane and welcome Mary. The
volunteers are certain she wil
be as successful,
Jane presented Catherine
with an Arthritis Bluebird
Pin in recognition of her
years of service.
Those present as well as
Field Representatives were
Helen Hall, Dorothy Hamil-
ton, Mary McIntosh, Mamie
Roulston, Cora Cranston,
Joyce Adamson and Olive
Chisholm,
Last year $2427 was raised
by the Lucknow and District
Arthritis Society and they
look forward to another suc-
cessful campaign.
WlWrtn Dowler MacDonald
William Fowler MacDon-
ald passed away at his home
in Sarnia on Sunday, May 8,
1983, in his 96th year. A
retired farmer from Kinloss
township, he was an elder of
the South Kinloss Presby-
terian Church for 50 years
and Clerk of Session. He also
served as an officer with the
Co-operatives Farm Associa-
tion.
He is survived by his wife,
May Graham, one daughter,
Margaret MacDonald of Sar-
nia, two sons, Dr. John
MacDonald of Sarnia and
Graham of London. He is
also survived by seven
grandchildren,
He was predeceased by
four sisters and three broth-
ers.
The funeral service for
William P. MacDonald was
held on Wednesday, May 11,
1983 at the MacKenzie and
McCreath Funeral Home,
Lucknow, with interment in
South Kinloss Cemetery,
Rev, Allison Ramsay of
South Kinloss Presbyterian
Church and Rev. Dennis W.
Clarke of St. Andrews Pres-
byterian Church, Sarnia, of-
ficiated.
Pallbearers were Herb
Buckton, Ira Dickie, Evan
Keith, Donald Maclntyre,
Jack Needham and Russell
Whitby.
Flower bearers were
grandchildren, Hill, Eliza-
beth, Geoff, Janet and John
MacDonald.
Albert "Ab" Reynolds
Albert "Ab" Reynolds of
Toronto died at Toronto East
General Hospital on Mon-
day, May 9, 1983.
He is survived by his son,
Don of Toronto and a daugh-
ter, Linda, Mrs. H. 1/ Tate
of Regina, two grandchild-
ren, Albert and Margaret
and a sister, Virna of Guelph,
He was predeceased by his
wife, tate former Marion
Fisher.
The funeral was held at the
Humphrey Funeral Home,
A. W. Miles Chapel on
Wednesday, May 11, 1983 at
2.30 p.m, Burial followed in
Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
Intermediates begin season with win
The Lucknow Legion inter-
mediates started their first
,eason in the Bluewater
Fastball League with a win.
Strong pitching by Hugh
Todd and Ross Baird limited
the Teeswater offense to
three hits. Todd went five
innings allowing one hit,
striking out five and walking
three. Baird finished the
game striking out four, walk-
ing three and allowing no
Hits.
