Negotiate 1983 soybean agreement
The 1983 Soybean Agree-
ment covering the marketing
of soybeans during the peri-
od September 1, 1983 to
August 31, 1984 has been
signed, fallowing negotia-
tions held between the soy-
bean processors, dealers and
growers.
The main features of the
Soybean Agreement under
discussion were pricing,
marketing, dealer handling
charges, drying charges and
grade disputes.
The pricing clause estab-
lishing the minimum price
based on the cost of imported
soybeans of equal qulity in
Canadian funds remains as
,n the past year. The dealer
candling charge for receiv-
ng, cleaning and handling
,oybeans during the crop
year is the same as in the

Attend annual meeting
of Arthritis Society
The Bluewater Region of
the Ontario Arthritis Society
held their annual meeting in
Walkerton April 30.
Attending from Lucknow
and area were Tillie Wilson,
Thelma Brown, Mamie Roul-
ston, Mary McIntosh, Olive
Chisholm and Catherine An-
drew.
Dr. Wayne Grainger who
is an associate professor of
Orthopedic Surgery, Univer-
sity of Western Ontario,
addressed the volunteers,
discussing the role of surgery
in the management of arth-
ritis.
John Rodina, Past State
Deputy, Knights of Colum-
bus Council was the keynote
speaker and commented ab-
out the involvement of the
Knights of Columbus mem-
bers of the various Councils
throughout Ontario in fund
raising. He described the
various projects with partic-
ular reference to how these
projects relate to the Knights
of Columbus programs and
activities in community ser-
vices.
Win bowling tournament
The first annual team
tournament was held at
Lucky Wood Lanes on April
30. The results are as
follows: Bears, 5150 plus
gold medals; Tigers, 5114

offset increased energy
costs.

eting option to growers was
amended to clarity the marg-
