Rip-raf is rocks along the river or stream which prevent theground from falling in and polluting the water. She gave out pamphlets to help with the students' scrapbooks. The scrapbooks will be marked by the teachers and then sent to Visit from Edmonton Mr. and Mrs. Spence Irwin of Lucknow enjoyed a visit with their daughter-in-law, Kathy, and grandson, Christ- opher from Edmonton. They arrived by bus at Goderich on Tuesday and left Friday morning for Hamilton to visit her mother. They fly home from Toronto at the end of this week. On Friday, the Irwins' niece, Noreen Cassidy from Hagersville, arrived and had dinner with them and return- ed that night to be at work on Saturday morning. KWAN - Mr. and Mrs. Richard Kwan are delighted to announce the arrival of a son, Wyatt Victor, 6 lbs. 8 oz., at Victoria Hospital, London, on April 19, 1983. LEONARD - Tom and Wendy of Mississauga are happy to announce the arrival of Josh- ua William, 9 lb. 8 oz., on April 30, 1983, a brother for Jennifer. Proud grandpar- ents are Bill and Betty Leon- ard, Mississauga, and Bob and Joyce Courtney, Point Clark. READMAN - Steve and Dianne are pleased to an- nounce the safe arrival of their first born, a son, Steven Kent, on April 27, 1983 at Wingham and District Hos- pital. Kent weighed 10 lbs. 14 oz. Proud grandparents are Mrs. Isobel Headman of Wingham and Mr. and Mrs. Merele Kerr of R. R. # 3, Goderich. the Conservation Authority. Claire McKay was at the school on April 20. She is an author who lives in Toronto and has written the Mini Bike Series, Exit Barney Mc- Gee and One Proud Summer, which won an award. The primary choir led by Mrs. Worsell and Mrs. Young sang for the pre -kind- ergarten children and moth- ers during Story Hour on Monday. Mrs. Blake, the school librarian, attended a meeting of school librarians on April 14 at the Board Office in Clinton. There was a book display and the librarians selected books for the librar- ies. On April 18 the students were pleased to have Debbie Heslinga, Resource teacher for gifted children, at the school to set testing proced- ures for the program for gifted pupils to start this fall. Mrs. Liddle's grade 6 class put on Fun Fair, April 22. Many students took vpart in the various games which included the ever popular computer and video games. Many prizes were given out for the games and in the draws and candy guesses. The draw prizes were as follows: senior division, a case of coke, Heather Ohm; the book, Mini Bike Rescue by Claire MacKay, Lauranne King; Button, Wake Me Up, Mark Johnston; Button, Powered by Peanut Butter, Heather Ohm; Surprise Draw Poster, Heather Ohm; Choc- olate Bar, Angela Millian; junior division, E. T. towel, Danny Kerr; kite, Terry Lyn Menary; cake, Tanya Hodg- es; button, Lion, Terry Lyn Menary; Surprise Draw Post- er, Billy Curran. The teacher's draws were won by Miss Bodie, a fruit basket and Mrs. Worsell, a Button saying "God loves me just as 1 am". The "Candy Jar" guess was won by Billy Curran and Mr. Errington. They each get half of the jar. The fun fair proceeds go towards Mr. Liddle's class camping trip. The last Story Hour was held on April 25. They were taught bus safety and then went for a ride on the 'big yellow bus'. The pre -kinder- garten children then present- ed their teacher, Mrs. Blake with a begonia plant.
