The Town and Country
club met on Tuesday, April
19 for business and a pro-
gram,
Margaret MacDonald pre-
sided and the minutes were
read by Mrs. Schmidt, sec-
retary, Ross Cumming gave
the treasurer's report.
It was decided the club
would enter a float in the
Jamboree parade. The club
also decided to donate $50 to
the Lucknow Library for craft
materials to be used for the
preschoolers' story hour,
Two readings were given
by Mrs. Raymond Leddy and
Brother Carl Voll, after
which everyone played shoot
with prizes going to Mrs.
Wilbur Brown, Mrs. Berna-
dine Kinney, Bili Stanley and
Bill Hunter.
This being the birthday
party, Mrs. Loth presented a
carnation to Mrs. Jean
Hughes and 8i11 Stanley in
recognition of their age.
Cake and ice cream were
served by the conveners from
Sepoy Apartments.

The Parents Committee of
the Lucknow Brownies,
Guides and Pathfinders met
on Tuesday, April 19, in the
Lucknow Town Hall.
Wendy Nixon gave the
treasurer's report. Karen
Johnstone assisted by Elean-
or MacDonald are heading
up Cookie Day to be held
Saturday. May 7.
Plans for the Annual Par-
ent and Daughter Banquet to
be held the first part of June
were discussed. The plans
for a rummage and bake sale
were tabled until early fall.
The donations received
from the Lions Club to the
Brownies, Guides and Path-
finders were very much
appreciated by all.
Pat Porter was appointed
the new secretary -treasurer
for the Parents Committee.
London visited with Mr, and
Mrs, Carl McClenaghan,
Mrs, May Rock of Seaforth
visited on Saturday with Mr,
and Mrs, Carl McClenaghan.
On Sunday Mr, and Mrs,
Carl McClenaghan and Mrs,
Mary McClenaghan visited
with Mr, and Mrs, Ben Moss
and family of New Dundee,
Mr, and Mrs, Mack Stew-
art of Waterloo visited on
Monday with Mr, and Mrs.

Students from Lucknow
Central Public School spent
three days last week at the
Outdoor Education Centre
for Bruce county students in
Wiarton, They enjoyed hik-
ing along the shore of Spry
Lake and learning about
nature, Kim Laidlaw and
Tony Falconer of White-
church participated,
Karen Pickard and Brian
Ross from this area particip-
ated in the Bruce County
regional science fair at
Southampton last week,
Chalmers W.M.S.
Chalmers WMS met on
April 20 at the home of Mrs,
Rod Lamb.
Mrs. Wesley Tiffin gave
the call to worship, The
scripture was read by Mrs,
Bill Purdon who also gave
the meditation, Religion in
Life as Compared to Spring-
time, Mrs, Jean Ross offered
Prayer,
Chapter four of the Study
Book was read by Mrs, Tiffin
and Mrs, John de Boer gave

was presented by Mrs, Wes-
ley Tiffin.
A contest, Apostles of
Jesus, was conducted by
Mrs, Tiffin,
The collection was receiv-
ed by Amy Falconer and
dedicated by Mrs, Tiffin,

Ross presided for the busi-
ness which included the sec-

which was answered by

their May meeting,
The Ladies Aid meeting
followed, Mrs. Lamb brought
forward the idea of creating a
craft shop in September at
the church and asked for two
helpers, It was decided to
give a $25 donation for
supplies.
Mrs, Alan Falconer spoke
on preparation of articles to
be prepared for the craft
festival.
The meeting closed with
courtesy remarks by Mrs,
Don Ross.
