Wingham pro-life group meets
The 9th annual dinner
meeting of the Wingham
Voice for Life was held on
Wednesday, April 13 at the
Lucknow District Community
Centre. Mr. Ted Schenk was
chairman for the evening.
Rev. Ted Slaman of the
Teeswater Roman Catholic
Church said grace before the
roast beef dinner. Rev. John
Swan of the Wingham Angli-
can• Church gave thanks
following the dinner. The
Belgrave Children's Choir
performed. It was very suit-
able to have children fling to
the organization which is en-
gaged in saving children.
Their director is George Cull
and Judy Morton was pian-
ist. it was wonderful to see
and hear such a large, de-
lightful group of children.
Sally Campeau mentioned
some highlights of the year;
advertising in newspapers,
T.V. ads and bill boards,
distributing informative
phamplets, speaking en-
gagements, garage and bake
sale.
The Goderich and Kincar-
dine Pro Life members were
welcomed.
in the annual report, Sally
said that "As Christians we
are not to tolerate the injust-
ice of a baby being slaugh-
tered every five minutes in
Canada". On May 1 the
Wingham Pro Life group is
going to Victoria Hospital in
London to participate in a
peaceful walk.
Jim Bakelaar thanked the
retiring board members and
welcomed the new members,
Eleanor Kuyvenhoven and
Mike Herrington.
John Vanden Essem wel-
comed everyone and thanked
them for coming.
The film. Slippery Slope,
was shown. it shows present
day attitude towards abortion
and how people lose respect
for life. It starts with abortion
and leads to apathy of older
people and the handicapped.
