Home and Garden Show
One of the most popular exhibits at the Lucknow Lions first
annual Home and Garden Show on the weekend was the
satellite dish and accompanying telecommunications equip-
ment exhibited by Cantel Communications Systems of

Stanleys host theirfamily at Easter

Mr, and Mrs. Leonard
Stanley and family had as
their Easter guests, Mr. and
Mrs. Ezra Stanley of Luck -
now, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd
Stanley and family of Ripley,
Mr. and Mrs. Larry Stanley
of Mississauga and Arthur
Stanley of Lucknow.
Mr, and Mrs. John E.
Hodgins were to Brantford to
attend the funeral of Mrs,
Elmer Armstrong.
Ladies from each of the
village churches attended the
Easter Thankoffering at Kin-
loss United Church on Wed-
nesday evening. All enjoyed
a fine time of fellowship.
Special Easter musk was
provided by Mrs. Duncan
Campbell at the piano, Mrs.
James McEwan at the organ
and the New Hope Singers of
Kincardine, Mrs, Albert Col-
well chaired the meeting and
the student minister, Mr.
Bruce Aitken gave the mes-
sage and prayer.
The guest speaker was
Marion Calvert who spoke on
Crosses and was assisted by
Mrs. Shirley (Stanley) Gar-
niss. Mrs. Lloyd Husk pres-
ented gifts to the guests.
The sing along was led by
Mrs. Ron Stanley and Mrs.
J. McEwan. The welcoming
ladies were Mary Campbell
and Jean Colwell.
Relatives, friends and
neighbours attended the fun-
eral service at the MacKen-
zie and McCreath Chapel at

Lucknow on Wednesday af-
ternoon for the late Frank
Mautden, who passed away
in the Wingham and District
Hospital on Monday morn-
ing. Rev. Shaw was in charge
of the service. The Kinlough
church ladies served a lovely
luncheon at the church here
following the funeral.
Visitors with Mrs. Mautd-
en and Keith and Jean Phil-
lips were her husband, Arth-
ur Phillips, who returned to
Fonthill; Lillian Bray of Lis-
towel, Dorothy Smith and
Mrs. Douglas Palmer, who
returned to Welland.
Mr, and Mrs. Roy Shaw
and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Shaw
of Stayner were dinner
guests on Wednesday with
Mr and Mrs. Bill Burt.
We are all sorry about the
house fire at the home of Mr,
and Mrs. Brian Hedley, west
on concession 12. The fire
broke out soon after noon,
Thursday. The Lucknow Fire
Department were called and
responded immediately as
the Hedley home is very
close to Mr. and Mrs. Tom
McDonald's. The blaze broke
out a second time making an
extra run for the firemen.
The kitchen was completely
gutted and much smoke and
water damage done through-
out the main house.
Mr. and Mrs. Morley
Bushell of Wingham and Mr,
and Mrs. Jack Barr visited
Sunday evening with Mrs.
John Barr.
Congratulations to Mr.
and Mrs, Robert Bonnett on
the arrival of their baby girl,
Julie Elizabeth, a sister for
Donna and Heather.

Easter weekend with Mr,
and Mrs, William MacPher-
son, Holyrood were Mr, and
Mrs, Carl Schoffer of Lon-
don.

The April meeting of the
Holyrood Women's Institute
was held on Thursday after-
nnon, April 7 at the home of
Mrs. Harold Smith, Mrs,
Lorne Eadie presided and the
roll call was the payment of
fees and program sugges-
tions.
Mrs. William MacPherson
read the minutes of the pre-
vious meeting and the com-
munications. Mrs. Harold
Smith reported the institute
will help at Jamboree 83 in
the food booth. Mrs. John
Scott gave a full report of the
District Directors meeting
which was held at Kincardine
in March. Delegate Mrs.
Harold Smith, who along
with Mrs. Charlie Murray,
wilt --be in charge of the
registration at the institute
district annual in Lucknow
