Lucknow United welcomes con firmands
Easter Sunday saw a large
ation for worship at
Lu w United (Church.
The Service began with the
Iihling of the Paschal Can-

Christ's„light which was not
extinguished by death,
Rev. McDougal's sermon
theme was "The Emotions of
Easter", suggesting that
there was much fear, as well
as joy, on the first Laster
Day, The senior choir
presented the anthem
`Allehi & .
On Palm Sunday 15 young
people and three adults were
confirmed, The Confirmands
were Carol rerguson, Mary
Treleaven Tim Treleaven,
Jeff Ackert, Lynn Alton,
Chris Collyer,Janice Cook,
Susan Cooe, Brenda
Davies, Julie Davies, Bruce
Elliott, Evans Helm, Glen
Gibson, Chris Irwin grad
Priestap, Brian Irwin,
Sharon Struthers aneii
Donalda Thompson.
Clerk of Session, Mrs.
Philip MacMillan, presented
each Confirmand with a
Book of Prayers, which was
a gift from the congregation.
Rev. McDougall presented
the Certificates. The Sacra-
ment of Holy Communion
followed.
Flutists Tracy Steer and
Donalda Thompson arcom-
panied the choir anthem,
"Nly Shepherd Will Supply
end'.
he Youth Group at
Lucknow United recently
held a very successful
weekend retreat at Silver
Lake Camp. Their plans for
the coming months include a
Soup and Sandwich Lunch
following the service on
April 17, a Hayride and
Cookout on April and par-
ticipation in the worship ser-
vice on Christian Family
Sunday in May.
The Youth Group is also
sponsoring an Organ Recital
in June, to raise money for
the Organ Fund.
On Sunday, April In.
Lucknow United will have a
representative from Gi-
deon's International who will
speak during the service; on
April 17Bill Thomson from
C.K.N.�C' . will be guest
speaker; and April 24 will be
Baptism Sunday, at which
time four infants will be
received by the Sacrament
of Baptism.

iridal shower honours Anne Colwell

A bridal shower was given
in honour of Anne Colwell on
Saturday afternoon in South
kinloss Presbyterian Sun-
day School room.
Nancy Mactntyre chaired
the program and started
with contests that continued
during the program,
Oli�veNeedham gave a
readi and Helen Niacin -
tyre favoured with a lovely
piano solo,
Marilyn Macintyre and
Anne MacCosh gave suitable
and a sing song was
with Wilma Clarke
at piano.
Anne and her attendants
were called to the front when
Nancy read the address.
Anne's attendants are
Sheryl Cottrill, Sandy
MacLeod Betty Morrison
and Murray. They
all helped Anne open her
Mrs. Herb Buckton enter-
tained her neighbors on the
fourth concession at a Tup
perware party one evening
last week.

The Dungannon Willing
Workers held their annual
Easter smorgasbord on
Thursday, March 31. Tickets
were sold out for the two
table settings at 5 p.m. and 7
p.m. The Workers are very
pleased and appreciate the
great response they always
have. During the meal a
draw was held on behalf of
the Dungannon - Nile Young
People for an Easter basket.
The winner was Art Young.
Leola Chisholm R.N. of
Cambridge visited with her
parents, Leonard and Olive
Chisholm over the Easter

family joined them for
Easter supper on Sunday.
