discussed Greek and Middle
Eastern foods at their third
meeting.

Laidlaw made antipasti and
Mrs, Purdon demonstrated
Middle Eastern Stuffed Veg-
etables and Apple Pie Greek
Style, These dishes were
served with mint tea.
At meeting hour the mem-
bers answered the roll call by
naming a variety of pasta.
President Cathy Dow con-
ducted the business and the
minutes of the previous
meeting were read by Ken-
dra Purdon.
The club party and the
achievement day skit were
discussed. Mrs. Elliott took
the topic, rood Geography.
Whfteebuurch W.I.
Whitechurch Women's In-
stitute met on March 9 at the
Whitechurch Community
Memorial Hall. The presid-
ent, Agnes Farrier opened
with the poem, Spring.
Members answered the
roll call, display a winter
hobby, which included afg-
hans, bedspreads, embroid-
ery, crewel work, soft soap
sculpture and quilts.
The institute decided to
donate 325 to the Heart
Fund. Preparations were
made for the afternoon
euchre party to be held
March 21.
Mrs. John Currie demon-
strated soft sculpture using
panty hose and coloured
batting.
Mrs. Lorne Durnin played
a medley of Irish tunes on the
piano and Norma Falconer
gave a reading, Fresh Food.
Mrs. bon Ross presented an
organ selection.
Helen Currie conducted a
short contest followed by
lunch which closed the meet-
ing.
Flyers meet Chiefs
The Kintail Flyers have
advanced to the final series
of the 1982-83 Industrial
Hockey League. They will
meet the defending cham-
pion Lucknow Chiefs in a
best three out of five contest.
iJantam B team is
defeated in Belmore
The Lueknow Bantam Hs
travelled to Belmore Friday,
March 11, minus a few
players out due to illness.
Prom the opening face off,
Belmore dominated with
swift skating and good puck
handling. Lucknow was down
five goals at the mid way
mark before Jim Jurjens
scored on a solid breakaway
effort. Belmore replied with
one more in the second and
ran away with the -game by
scoring six times in the third
period,.
In spite of the lopsided 12 -
1 score Lucknow did have
moments of productive play.
Todd Park played one of his
better games while the cap-
tain Jim Jurjens and Jeff
Burgsma hustled to the final
whistle.
