Institute hosis successful card party

The Holyrood Women's
Institute card party was held
on Wednesday night at the
hall. Everyone had a good
time. High prizes went to
Mrs. Ellwoo3 Elliott and Blob
Johnston. Lucky prizes went
to Mrs. Gen Haldenby and
William MacPherson.
Connie Stanley, daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Leon ird
Stanley, underwent mayor
surgery M Kincardine and
District Hospital on Tuesday

Everyone at R.D.S. would
like to congratulate Mr. and
Mrs. Malholtra on the birth
of their baby boy.
The Sadie Hawkins dance
was held last Friday at
R.D.s, Crowned as the
Valentine Queen was Denise
Watson. Her princesses were
Lori Latta and Heather
Scott.
For the past week, Mrs.
Mcl,eod's phys. ed, classes
have been curling at the
Ripley Curling rink.
in volleyball action last
week, the Ripley girls' teams
played games against
Chesley and Lion's Head.
The seniors split their games
with Chesley losing their
first game 15-4 but winning
their second game 15-5.
The junior girls Iost their
games 15-2 and 15-5. In
games against Bruce
Peninsula, the juniors Last
both of their games 15-13, 15-
8, but the seniors won both of
their games 15-7 and 15-2.
The R.D.S. science fair
will be held on Feb. 17. All
students taking an R.D.S.
science course will be
submitting a project. The
public may view the projects
from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. The
awards will be announced at
0:15 p.m.

last week that his brother,
Gordon, had been injured
while at work at the CNR in
Richmond Hill, and is in the
York General Hospital there.

Mrs. Delbert Hedley, pres-
ident, who welcomed every-

day. Letters from St. Monica

money and from Betty Sin-
clair of Pikurtoni, Manitoba
for four bales sent earlier,
expressing grateful thanks,
