report looks at not on'y the Ontario building
code but other relevant legislation such as
plumbing inspection, the Ontario Home
Renewal Program, the Ontario Mire Oode
and others,
During the preparation of the report the
planning department has become increas-
ing1 y alarmed ed with not only the amount of
overlapping legislation, but its very serious
consequences for municipalities who may
not be aware of the liabilities they have, by
default, assumed under provincial legisla-
tion and some federal program, said Scott,
The report will consider also the present
building inspection system in thecounty and
its strengths and weaknesses, At the present
time there are six hill time building
inspectors in the county, 16 part time and
two municipalities have their aeries issue
permits, Three of the six building inspectors
operate on a Mut use basis among two or
more municipalities.
One of Ow n jar deficiencies not only
within the county but within the province is
the lack of uniform eduestional and training
