Whitechurch community extends sympathy 10 Oberholtzers

Kitchener in the passing of
his grandfather, Lorne Ober-
holtze r of Kitchener, and to
Jeffrey and Julie in the
passing of their great grand-

ham visited Sunday with Mr.
and Mrs- Victor Emerson.
Cassie Mowbray spent last
week with her son, Angus
and Mrs. Falconer due to a
fall at her home.

Mr. and Mrs. John Jamie-
son, Bobby and Dale have
moved from Kurtzviille to
Listowel. Mrs. Jamieson is
now manager at the Blue
Barn, north of Listowel.
Mr. and Mrs. John de
Boer visited recendy with
Mr. and Mrs. John Jamieson
of Listowel.
Mr. and Mrs. Paul Laid-
law, Michelle and Jason of
London spent the weekend
with parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Walter Elliott and Karen and
Mr. and Mrs. Elroy Laidlaw.
Michael McClenaghan of
Jean Elizabeth Maelbeith
On December 24, 1982
Jean Elizabeth (Johnston)
MacKeith passed away in
Vancouver, B.C. in her 94th
year.
She was born in Ashfield
Township, Huron County, on
July 26, 1889 to the late
William A. and Margaret
Jane Johnston.
She was married to Ewart
MacKeith in Ashfield Town-
ship iin August, 1913. She
taught school at Lothian, on
the 12th concession of Ash-
field before her marriage.
After their marriage, Mr.
and Mrs. MacKeith lived in
Saskatchewan before moving
to Vancouver.
She • was predeceased by
her husband, Ewart, in 1975
and one son, Allan, who was
killed in action in the Second
World War; also one sister
Annie (Mrs. David Farrish)
and two brothers, Mex and
Noble.
She is survived by four
daughters, Mrs. E. J. (Ver-
na) MacComber, Mrs. G.
(Margaret) Fulcher, Mrs. J.
(Alma) Gibson, all of Van-
couver and Mrs. R. W.
(Olive) Heke of Abbotsford,
B.C.; ten grandchildren and
15 great grandchildren; one
brother, Bill Johnston of
Ashfield Township and two
sisters, Grace (Mrs. Wilfred
Farrish) and Jessie (Mrs.
Jim Maclntyre) and a sister-
in-law, Jessie A. Johnston,
all of Lucknow.
A memorial service was
held on Tuesday, December
28 at 11 a.m. at West Point
Grey United Church, Van-
couvet.
Robert W. Andrew
Robert W. Andrew, barris-
ter and solicitor, of Listowel
died January 17, 1983 in the
Listowel Memorial Hospital
at the age of 77.
Born September 6, 1905 at
Lucknow he was the son of
the late W. George Andrew
and the former Mary Web-
ster.
After graduating from Os-
goode Hall in 1929, Bob
practised law with Mr. H. B.
Morphy, Barrister in Listow-
el, before serving overseas in
the Second World War, as
Captain in the 100th Battery.
Upon returning home in
1945, he opened a Law
Practise in Luclr9ow.
In 1953 he became a
partner in the Law Firm of C.
Morton Scott. Following Mr.
Scott's death, he continued
in his own Practise until
retiring due to ill health in
1979. In 1980 Bob was made
an Honorary Member of the
Perth Law Association.
Mr. Andrew was a mem-
ber of the Bernard Lodge 225
A.F. & A.M. Listowel and
also the Lucknow Chapter
R.A.M. 147, Lucknow, a
member of the Knox Pres-
byterian Church, a member
of Listowel Town Council
from 1962-1964, a former
member of the Rotary Club
and a member of the Canad-
ian Legion Branch 359, List-
owel.
He is survived by his wife,
the former Elsie M. Gee,
whom he married on June
25, 1952 at Listowel. A step-
son, Jack Zilliax and his wife,
Wendy of Listowel, four
grandchildren and one great
grandchild, also survive, as
well as three brothers, Alex
Andrew of Lucknow, William
E.Andrewof Ashfield Town-
ship and Arthur Andrew of
Guelph, several nieces and
nephews.
He was predeceased by his
parents and a sister, Flora.
The funeral was conducted
from the Robert Trench
Funeral Home, Listowel on
January 20, 1983 at 2 p.m. by
Rev. Vern Tozer and Rev. D.
Stroh.
Pallbearers were Allan
Andrew, John Andrew, John
Roe, John Gee, Robert Zil-
liax and Donald Zilliax.
Burial to. follow in Green-
hill Cemetery, Lucknow.
Waterloo visited Tuesday
with Mr. and Mrs. Carl Me-
Clenaghan .
Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Mc-
Clenaghan of Waterloo visit-
ed Sunday with his mother,
Mary McOenaghan and Mr.
and Mrs. Cad McClenaghan.
Mr. and Mrs. Brad Sacks
and Darryl of Hanover were
Saturday visitors with Mr.
and Mrs. Carl McClenaghan.
Mr. and Mrs. Paul Geiger
and Jason of Winnipeg visit-
ed Wednesday and Thursday
with Mr. and Mrs. Carl Mc-
Clenaghan, who were so
happy to have Paul, as he
visited during his young life
many times at the McClen-
aghan home.
In the In Memoriam on
Monday it was announced
that G. S. Moggach of Lind-
say had passed away_ Mr.
and Mrs. Moggach and
family lived for a time around
1954 in the house now
occupied by Mr. and Mrs.
Vic Emerson. He was a block
salesman for Allis-Chalmers
machinery. They also lived in
Wingham for a time.
Chalmers W.M.S.
The Chalmers W.M.S. met
January 19 at the home of
Mrs. Wesley Tiffin. Mrs.
Alan Falconer presided. She
introduced the new Study
Book on the South Sea
Islands.
The scripture on Faith was
read by Mrs. Rod Lamb. The
offering was received by
lochalsh news
Amy Falconer.
The first chapter of the
Study Book was read by Mrs_
Falconer. Mrs. Lamb and
Mrs. Falconer led a discus-
sion of Frigu, it's land and
people.
Mrs. Don Ross presided
for the business. The fin-
ancial statement was given
by Mrs. Falconer. it was
decided to make a quilt for
Armagh or Ewart College.
TheLadies Aid met follow-
ing the W.M.S. meeting. It
was decided to take part in
the Craft Festival at Luck -
now. Lunch was served by
Mrs. Tiffin. Mrs_ John de
Boer gave the courtesy re-
marks.

recently with Rhetta Mac-
Lennan.
Wellington and Kae Web-
ster had visitors for a few
days last week from Rich-
field, Ohio when Atlee Wise,
Cecil Webster and Jeneane
LeHoty came up with their
snowmobiles. They were
very pleased that we had
enough snow to enjoy their
favourite winter sport. Cecil
remained at home for a
couple of weeks for a visit.

end at the MacLennan home
in Lochalsh.
Marion MacLennan and
Dick Evans have recently
returned to their home in
Sudbury after spending a few
weeks holiday at the home of
Rhetta MacLennan.
Rhetta MacLennan enjoy-
ed a lovely dinner on Thurs-
day with Jim and Ruth
MacKenzie.
George MacDonald receiv-
ed a phone call the other
morning from Mike Robinson
of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan
to inform them of the safe
arrival of a baby daughter.
George and Betty Mon-
crief along with Betsy's sister
and brother-in-law. Jack and
Jean Bell of Goderich, have
enjoyed a couple of weeks
holiday in Florida.
Jim Webster of Waterloo
was home on the weekend
and enjoyed a visit with his
brother and brother-in-law,
Cecil Webster and Atlee
Wise of Richfield, Ohio.
Helen Kempton of Point
Clark, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Bill Kempton, graduat-
ed recently from the Acad-
emy School of Hair Styling in
Kitchener.
