St. Helens couple welcome baby boy By Kathryn Todd Congratulations ° to Mr. and Mrs. Rae Nicholson on Nie arrival of their new baby. Their son was born on January 7, 1983. Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Tadd and Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Payne spent the weekend in Niagara Falls. They won the vacation weekend at a sheep sale which was held in the spring in the Niagara Reg- ion. The St. Helens Women's institute hall was filled with guests to honour Barbara Elliott, nee Cameron, on her recent marriage to Richard Elliott. At the shower, a contest was conducted by Melanie Nicholson and Isabel Miller. Readings were presented by Celia Aitchison, Isabel Gaunt and Kathryn Todd. Beverley Aitchison entertained every- one with two piano solos. Barbara was presented with gifts which included bedding, glasses, dishes. canister set, hamper, spice rack. and many other useful kitchen and household items. Foliow•ing the courtesies, ev- eryone enjoyed a light lunch. St. Helens W.I. Lucknow Outktwspkin broomball tournament Last Wednesday night, the Outlaws played two games against the top team in the Teeswater league, the Lucky Devils. Despite an excellent effort put forth by all the Outlaws, the Devils still overpowered them. The Out- iaws lost both games. On Sunday evening the Outlaws, still displaying their will to win, defeated Teeswater by a score of 2 - 0. Lucknow scorers were Wayne McDonagh and Tim Martin, The Outlaws are busy planning the annual Lucknow Broomball Tournament which is to take place Jan- uary 21. 22, 23. Be sure to keep that weekend open so you can come out and support Lucknow's second broomball tournament. Fleas winning streak continues with win The Lucknow Senior Fleas added one more win to their record Saturday night, beat- ing Mildmay with a score of 7 - 2. The leading goal scorer was once again, Chris Stev- enson with three goals. two of which were assisted by Justin Murray and one by Terry Stanley. Justin Murray scored the first and the last goal, one unassisted and one with Chris Stevenson assist- ing. The other scorers were Vince Sticklend with Brad Rhody assisting; Ray Dalton with Terry Stanley assisting; Adrian Helm with Terry Stanley assisting. and a goal from Terry Stanley. unassist- ed.
