Santa's sleigh needed wheels
to liver presents in St. Helens
By Kathryn Todd
Just prior to the Christmas
Holidays, the new home of
Mr. and Mrs. Allan Cranston
was placed on the founda-
tion. The crane lifted off the
ground when the house was
being lowered which caused
it to be dropped onto the
foundation. No damage was
done to the home, but a job
that was to take an hour
turned into an all day adven-
ture, since the house was too
heavy for the crane to lift
properly.
Santa indeed had to get
out the wheels for Christmas
Eve in order to make the
rounds in St. Helens. On
Christmas morning the re-
corded temperature in the
Village was 12 degree C. (54
degrees F). This temperature
broke all previous records
dating back to 1892. Anyone
