Lancers co
,The
PLancers came up with
a
i effort for Coach Dave
MacKinnon's first win, since
taking over the coaching
duties of the team.
In the first period, things
were very even, but the
Lancers held a slim 2 1 lead,
on goals by Curley Stanley,
assisted by Jim Murray and
Mike Courtney. Lucknow's
second goal was scored by
John MacKenzie, with as-
sistsgoing to John Hamilton
and Doug Stevenson. Goder-
ieh's goal was ,scored by
Danny Colguhoun.
In the second period, both
teams scored twice making
the score 4 - 3 for Lucknow.
Goal scorers for Lucknow
were John MacKenzie unas-
sisted and Jim Murray from
Stanley and Montgomery on
a power play. Goderich's two
goals were put in by Rick
Fremlin and Grant Shelton.
The third period was all
Lancers, as they poured 8
goals by the Goderich goalie,
Jim Prayne, who had very
4
little hell) from the rest of the
Goderich team, Goal scorers
for `Lucknow were Jim Mur-
ray, . John Emberlin, Mike
Courtney, Andy Sheddon
and John Hamilton, who
actually had scored another
goal earlier, which was dis-
allowed because of Hogback
Courtney's aggressive play
on. the Goderich' goaltender,
Doug . Stevenson notched
another Lancer goal, just
before MacKenzie who pick-
ed up the hat trick.
The Lancer's final goal
was scored by Kevin Murray.
Goderich's lone goal was
scored by Paul Kelly.
If the Lancers continue to
play like they did against the
Sailors, there is no reason
they can't catch the league
leading Sailors and finish in
first place. The Lancers now
have 10 points, good enough
for a . second, place tie with
Mildmay, and both teams are
only four points back of the
Sailors.
Lose a
.close one
On Friday, december 22
the Lancers traveled to Mil-
verto `i and lost a close game
to the four wheel drivers.
Lucknow 'opened quickly
scoring three goals before
Milverton replied with four
of their own.
Goal scorers for Lucknow
were John MacKenzie with
two and Carl Stanley with
one.
Both teams only scored
once in the second making it
5 - 3 for Milverton. Doug
Stevenson scored for Luck -
now.
The third period was hard
fought, as Milverton scored
two goals to Lucknow's one
goal by Doug Stevenson.
. John MacKenzie was a
having a great game, until he
was badly checked and re-
ceived a broken collar bone.
John will be unable to play
for 6 - 8 weeks and will be
missed a lot.
Lucknow's next home
game will ' be against the'
Goderich Sailors on Sunday,
January 7 at 7,30 in Luck -
now. So come on out.
