HomeMy WebLinkAboutThe Lucknow Sentinel, 1978-12-28, Page 3Obituary PEARLS (NIXON] MURMi Pearle Alfreda Murdie passed away in Wingham Hospital on December 11, 1978. She was born in South- ampton, April 4, 1909, daughter of the late Fred A. Nixon' and the late Christina MacArthur. She was a graduate :of Victoria Hospital, receiving her R.N. in the 1932 gradu- ating class. She was married to Ken- neth A. Murdie on June 9, 1936, who predeceased her in March 1968. Mrs. Murdie is survived by a daughter Mary, Mrs. Joe Sinclair, of Callander, two sons, Richard of Luck - now and Frank of Drumbo, Kingsbridge BY MARIAN KNOOP AND DIANE VanOSCH On Friday, December 22nd we had a film called "One Little Indian". For the month of January we will have a new nurse. Her name is Margerite Fal- coner. In House League floor ' hockey Saskatchewan and Toronto are tied for first place but Toronto has played one more game than Saskat- chewan. •The House League stand- ings are now Saskatchewan 93, Toronto 142 and Edmon- ton 112. The Grade 7 and 8 had a and two grandchiidren. Also• a sister, Winnifrecl, Mrs, Gordon Fisher, Lucknow. The funeral service was held on December 13th from the MacKenzie and McCre- ath Funeral Home, Lucknow. The service was conducted by Rev. Doug Kaufkan of the Lucknow United Church. Pallbearers were four nephews, , John Armstrong, -Hamilton; " William Murdie, Goderich; Michael Murdie, London; William Fisher, Woodstock and Tom Prit- chard and Evans Helm, both of Lucknow. Temporary entombment followed in South Kinloss Mausoleum and final resting place will be in Greenhill Cemetery. Kurriculum music contest. There were 5 groups and Group 4 won the prize. The students in Group 4 were Diane VanOsch, Denise Connelly, Lisa Fray- ne, Rosemary Gilmore; Cas- ey Hendriks and Michael Austin. Each of the students won a post donated byinusic teacher Mrs. Park. On Friday, December 22nd we had mass before the Christmas Holidays started. The Primary House Leagues of the Soccer are underway. One game has been played Which was be- tween Toronto and Edmon- ton. Toronto won by a score of 7 - 4.
