A tanker truck owned by Shell Canada, Don Mills, slid off Huron
County Road I., during the ice storm a week ago Wednesday
afternoon. Thit truck ended up in a field owned by Harold Landry,'

• Gayle Mason, a member of the Saugeen
Indian Band, was unanimously appointed to
the Board of Education as trustee for the
band at the board's meeting as her term as
trustee to the board expired November 30,
1978. She as appointed to the board after
much publicity early in September.
At the meeting Tuesday, the board read a
letter from the Saugeen Band's Chief, James
Mason, saying the band had appointed Ms.
Mason as their representative to the board.
Before the vote to accept Ms. Mason as
trustee was taken,...the board discussed the:
situation.
The board has an agreement with G. C.
Houston Public School, Southampton and is
the only school in Bruce County that has a
formal written agreement with the board,
the federal government and the. school. The
Education Act states an Indian repres-
entative must be appointed to a board of
education if there are 100 Indian children at
a. School with an agreement,it a- trustee is
requested.
There were 99 children present at G. C.
Houston Public School as of _Monday,
December 18.

board and undermine the, credibility of this

Charged
with
mischief
Two , Lucknow area men have been
charged with seven counts of Mischief each,
followitig an investigation by officers of the
Kincardine detachment of the 'Ontario
Provincial Police into incidents which occur-
red -on December 3 at the Lucknow Arena, G
& E Sales and Service, the South Kinloss
Church and two residences in the village of
Lucknow.
The two charged appeared in County
Court, Walkerton on. December 21. One was
remanded to January 4 and the other to
January 29.
