Madill teacher interview
eet Mr. Gibson
MR. GHISON
"I enjoy teaching; that's
why I stayed after the
strike." Thisatement is
one of the m ny from Mr.
Gibson, the prekent-day biol-
ogy teacher at F. E. Madill
Secondary School, made dur-
ing his interv;ew last week.
During the session, he
went on to add that he tries
to create a friendly atmos-
phere for his students where
they ,have the independence
to make their own mistakes.
This responsibility, he
feels, helps the students to
grow and enhances their
learning. He seems to be
speaking from experience
gathered from his own schol-
astic days.
Concerning the years
when he was a student he
maintains that he enjoyed
going to school . and had fun
there.
Mr. Gibson attended a
one -room school house
where he was the only stud-
ent in his particular grade for

F. E. Madill Secondary
School where he remains
today.
At "gold -ole F.W.” he
tries to ,convey to his pupils
one more piece of advice. He
claims that everyone, espec-
ially students, should meet
people and do things they are
able to do, with their class-
mates. For, no where else is
there such opportunities and
friends as in a high school
like "Madill"!
So, just remember if Mr.
Gibson can get enjoyment
out of teaching; you, also,
can get enjoyment out of
learning!!
