The first club bonspiel of
the season was held on
Saturday, when Stuart Rea -
vie of Lucknow generously
hosted the "Ford" event,
which is held annually.
Don MacTavish was the
trophy winner curling with
Elmer Courtney, Bill Peter-
baugh and son-in-law, Char- -
les Liddle. Don had a record
of three wins and a plus of
nineteen.
Second place on the early
draw went to Ivan Rivett's
Goderich rink with two wins
and a plus of twelve. Ivan
had Len Bowman, Tom
Moore and Jamieson Ribey
assisting.
Don Gaunt's rink captured
first place in the 11 o'clock
draw, with two wins and a
plus— of eight, aggregate
twenty-two. With Don were
Don McLay, Bob Lyons and
Bob Johnston.
Bert Elliott's rink took
second place with an identic-
al win and plus record but
with an aggregate of eight-
een.
Third place on the early
draw went to Bob Simpson,
and the later one to Jim
MacDonald.
Other rinks were skipped
by Allan MacKay, Gordon
Roulston, Don McKenzie,
Harry Scott, Ron Farrell and
John Matheson.
Congratulations to the
Ladies' Club rink skipped by
Dianne Brooks which won
their division last week in
Wingham besting Listowel in
the final of a five game
competition. Dianne has Hil-
da Andrew vicing, Dianne
Fariell playing second and
June Paquette as lead. This
is the first year the Ripley
club has entered the South-
ern Ontario Ladies' events
and we wish them well in the
next round which will be held
in Kincardine early in Janu-
ary.
