May Cristmas bring you
happiness, and fill your heart
with love. And may you
richly share in all the bles-
sings from above. It is the
hour to rejoice. It is the time
of year, when everyone
should dwell in peace, in
good will and cheer. And
when December disappears,
may there be even more
pleasure, fulfillment and
happiness in store. May this
Christmas be the beginning
of a more peaceful life than
ever you have known before.
The W.M.S. of Ashfield
Presbyterian Church held
their annual Christmas meet=
ing on Thursday at the home

gannon Hall to shower them
with gifts and an enjoyable
evening . of fun and dancing.
Mr. and Mrs. Lorne Luther
and Mr. and Mrs. Gordon
Robb attended.
Mr. and Mrs. Elden Brad-
ley were surprised on Satur-
day evening when friends
and relatives gathered at
their home in Lucknow to

husband, and son, John,
planned the party following a
family dinner.

A Merry Christmas and
Happy New Year to all.
Lucknow was a busy place
on Saturday, when Santa
Claus took time from his
busy schedule, to visit with
children at the Lucknow
public school, and parents
took advantage of this to do
some last minute shopping.
The pupils of Hillcrest
School, Teeswater, present-
ed their Christmas concert on
Thursday and Friday even-
ings with a full house both
nights. Several families from
this district attended the
concert.
The Teeswater 4-H clubs
held their award night in the
Teeswater Town Hall Mon-
day evening with a large
crowd in attendance.
Mr. and Mrs. Bob Breg-
man visited with Mrs. Reulie.
de Boer in London Hospital
last Friday and found her
much improved.
Kim and Karey Coughlin
spent Saturday at the home
of Mr. and Mrs. Clifford
Young.
Bob Bregman attended the
forage conference held at the
Skyline Hotel in Toronto two
days last. week.
We are pleased to report
that Mrs. Reulie de Boer was
able to -return - home from
London Hospital -on Sunday
after being a patient there for
' a while. We understand she
is feeling much better. Mr.
and Mrs. John Koobs and
Jeanette of Gowanstown vis-
ited with her mother and
other members of the family
on Sunday.
The Whitechurch Presby-
terian Sunday School pupils
are holding their Christmas
concert next Friday evening:
The Young Peoples held
their meeting at the manse
on Sunday evening.
An item of interest on the
National news Saturday ev-
ening was a picture of
Gordon Moffat and his three
children Julie, Kendra and
Alexandra going to the bush
to pick their Christmas tree.
Gordon is the son of Mr. and
Mrs. Farish Moffat and was
raised, on his parents farm at
Langside, before attending
Toronto College.
South Kinloss
RUTH BUCHMEIER
Mr. and Mrs. Barry John-
ston, Lindon and Andrew
visited last week with Mr.
and Mrs.. Dwayne Grieg and
family of Elmira. Also visited
with Mr. and Mrs. Bill Taylor
and family and Mr. and Mrs,
Peter Leeson and family, all
of Elmira.
The annual Christmas din-
ner and Sunday School con-
cert was held at South
Kinloss Church on Sunday
and was very successful with
a good turnout.
Seems this is maybe the
only time of the year that
people take the time to sit
down and drop a few lines to
long time friends and rela-
tives and to visit amongst
neighbours. It shows that
people really do care and
want us to have a Merry
Christmas. 1 hope that each
and -everyone of you have a
wonderful Christmas. If any
of ybu have to travel, I pray ;
that you arrive there and
back hone; safe again,
