• Farmer's
Week
Southwestern Ontario's
forty-first consecutive
Farmers' Week offers an
outstanding roster of
speakers qualified to
discuss ; the major in-
terests ' of today's far-
mers.
The week-long public
event runs from Monday,
January 8 to Friday,
January 12 on the campus
of the Ridgetown,college
of Agricultural
Technology.
Speakers will travel
from Manitoba and
Missouri, Harrow,
Guelph, and Woodstock,
Newmarket and Bran-
tford, to concentrate on
the complexities of
livestock, cash crops,
vegetable production and
farm management.
Each day is dedicated
to a particular branch of
farming and is centred
around a feature speaker.
Monday's program will
feature Dr. K. L. Bader,
Chief Executive Officer
of the American Soybean
Association, who will give
an over -view of the 1979
world soybean market.
Dr. Bader can be ex-
pected to discuss the size
and influence of the
Brazilian crop and to give
some indication of new
markets. The function of
the Association will also
be explained.
Tuesday will offer a
special women's day
program and will feature
Dr. 0. L. Crocker of the
University of Windsor's
Faculty of Business
Administration. Dr.
Crocker's topic is Stress
and the Farm Family,
and she will examine the
extent and influence of
stress, which has become
a major problem in
today's high-pressure
agricultural decision-
making.
The afternoon session
will concentrate on two
management areas for
women: much -neglected
public relations
techniques for the family
farm and community,
and a special session on
"home management,
featuring wood heat.

panding markets, for
corn, which are at-

U.C.O.'s Grain Services
and Marketing Depar-
tment.
Charles Gracey,

Thursday program. With
the rise in beef prices, the
threat of lowered import
quotas, rising cost of
western calves, and high
input costs, Gracey will
tackle the difficult task of
presenting an over -view
of the beef- market in
