The Ripley Juveniles tried on their new sweaters courtesy of the Point Clark District Kin- smen Sunday night but they'll have to wait a while before the sweaters see league action. The Lions Head team the Juveniles were to ,play Sunday had to cancel out due to bad weather. And the Ripley area just has the farm where they are growing - one block west of Ripley towards Pine River. They were planted there back in the 1950's by Wally Burnett of Windsor who owned the Allan McLay place at that time and, he used to hire boys from the Ripley District High School. The present owner is Mac MacKenzie of the Bruce Inn of Kincardine and he has, the trees at a reasonable rate for sale. On Wednesday af- ternoon of last week Mrs. W.J. Mackay, Miss Gertrude Kidney, Mrs. Jack Carter; Mrs. Earl Lohnes, and Mrs. Steve Irwin all of the village visited with Mrs. Clark Campbell, Mrs. Thos. Welsh and Miss Jean Scott, all former area residents here now residing in Princes Court in Kincardine. Friends are sorry to hear Mrs. Harry Ramsay is a patient in Kincardine District Hospital and also that Victor Gawley of Purple Grove is hospitalized in London. Thanks to Mrs. Reta Irwin for this news. Norman Barnard of Ripley underwent surgery in St. Joseph's Hospital in London this past week. Also in St. Joe's are Bob Forster who underwent surgery and Clarence Wylds of Ripley for treatment. Ripley folks wish them all well. Ripley folks are glad to welcome home and up - street Alex MacAuley this past week. Alex was a patient in University .Hospital. Also there is Carl Funston of Pine River who possibly is back home by this time. Mrs. Nora Frederiksen entered Kincardine and District . Hospital last Thursday suffering severe back pains. Here she is undergoing treatment for the same and awaiting transfer to Owen Sound Hospital this Tuesday. Her husband Niels received word a week ago that his younger brother back on the family farm at Asferg in Denmark had suffered a severe stroke. Niels visited there a year ago. His neighbours along Malcolm Street and all Ripley- area folks wish him better news to come. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Forster of Sideroad 10, Concession 8, east of Ripley in Huron township recently flew down to Tampa in Florida. They plan to spend the winter in Florida residing at Seminole Park. Ripley area folks wish them an enjoyable time down there. Steve Mitchell of London returned to the city last Friday. after spending several days here in Ripley visiting with his grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Redvers Johnson and also with Joy and George McLean. Ripley people are glad to hear that Mrs. Isabel Love was abide to return home with her husband Bob after she had spent several weeks , in Kin- cardine and District Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Ron Cornish and Miss Cathy Fludder were in London this past weekend. Last Thursday morning using the Ripley ladder truck, village foreman Donnie Peterbaugh put up the Christmas lights in the evergreen in Gore Park. This tree is close to, the main intersection and it really looks nice this year when lit up. Miss Jean MacDonald of the Pinecrest Manor Nursing Home Staff in Lucknow visited over the weekend with her sister Noreen at their Malcolm Street home in Ripley. Ripley folks continue to be lucky in those weekly draws held in Lucknow for the Community Centre there. Last Wednesday the noon hour radio ' program had Del Stanley of Ripley as the owner of the ticket drawn. At another time it was stated that the ticket drawn the week before was held jointly by Bob Johnston and Rod MacDonald both of Ripley. The Kincardine Community Singers sponsored by the . Ripley Agricultural Society presented their Christ- mas concert to a full house in the Huron Township hall last Sunday evening. President of the Ripley Agricultural Society welcomed those present and thanked them for turning out. Mr. and, Mrs. Marvin. Becker of Palmerston who bought the Ripley Public School building some time ago from Jim Lowry of Ripley recently moved from Palmerston into one of the apart- ments. They are still running the school as an apartment building. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Robinson and family of Ripley spent last weekend visiting in Oak- ville. Mr. and Mrs. Ken Robertson of Kincardine Twp. Mr and Mrs Roy Collins Jennifer, Angela David and Mrs. Martha Huston of Ripley visited with Mr. and Mrs Don Robertson on Sunday. Mrs Don Dore went to the Avon Christmas dinner in Howick Saturday. Don Dore and Mr. Wood of Durham spent Saturday ' at Vic- toria Harbour and Waubaushene visiting relatives and friends.
