Back home to Ripley
are Mary Fludder, Fran
and Ab Wylds, Mary
drove down to London on
Sat. Nov. 25. This was the
day that Grey Cup parade
was held in Toronto. ,On
checking into the motel it
was watched on T.V. and
the first band they saw
was the O.P.P. band.
This was the same band
who played at the Ripley
Huron fall fair.
There playing his pipes
in the front row.. was Don
Dawson of Olivet
member of the Kin-
cardine detachment -and
the camera had a full size
clear picture of him. In
fact during the week in
London they met with a
number of folks from the
Ripley -Huron area. In the
car right behind Mary's
pulling into the motel
were Mr. and Mrs. Ron
Farrell of Walkerton.
Then on Thursday
evening they met Mr. and
Mrs. Ken Farrell of Pine
River.-Ron's brother
Others were Mrs. Mabel
Raney of London, Mrs.
Gladys (Carl) Funston,
Bob Forster, Mrs
Mildred Wylds, Burton
MacLeod, Courtney and
Susan MacDonald.
It was nice to learn that
John C. MacDonald was
able to return home last
week „ after being a
"patient in St. Joseph's
hospital, London.
Both 'Clarence Wylds
and Bob Forster were
admitted to ; St. Joe's
Hospital, London last.
week. Ripley folks wish
them well.

Toronto Star, reports a
tree being -cut down near
the south end of Ripley
street in Ripley - on Sat.
Nov. 25 caused excitment
and also damage to the
power lines causing a
hydro interruption.
Changes noticed
Changes noticed in the
Ripley area on last
Saturday's return • were
the coloured Christmas
lights and the amount of
snow coupled with wintry
conditions. The corning of
winter was threatening
on leaving on Nov. 25,
T,he. Ripley
Agricultural Society are
sponsoring the Kin-
cardine Community
Singers with "The Voice
of Singing" -Christmas
music this Sunday
evening Dec. 10 at 8 p.m.
in the Huron Township
hall.
A pot luck luncheon
was held when the Ripley
Women's Institute met
for their Christmas
meeting.
Mrs. Walter Loch, the
President asked Mrs.
Cathy Bushell and Mrs.
Barbara Gamble to
report on the Board of
Education conference
held in Walkerton which
they attended as from the
Ripley Women's Institute.
Mrs. - Nick Peet and
Mrs. J. Gamble will lead
the next 4 H Homemaking
club on "accessories in
wearing apparel". Shut-
in boxes will be packed on
Dec. 14 at Miss Christene
Robertson's home. Mrs.
Roy MacKenzie was
chairlady for the
program which consisted
of a carol sing led by Mrs.
James Kirkpatrick.
A skit on Christmas
with Mrs. Kirkpatrick,
Mrs. Frank Scott, Mrs.
Donnie McDonald, Mrs.
Ross. Martyn, Rev. Jim
Bushell as the pastor who
sang a Christmas carol
and read the Christmas
Story. Mrs. Roy
MacKenzie was ac-
companist. Mrs. Joe
Scott read a poem on "A
Blue . Teddy Bear"
followed by a duet " Me
and My Teddy Bear" by
Mrs. Kirkpatrick and
Mrs. Gemmell.
An auction followed
with Mrs. Lock auc-
tioneer. Proceeds of the
sale will be used for shut-
in gifts. Mrs. Oliver
McCharles • gave the
courtesies.
The Happy Hearts Club
of Ripley wish to express
sincere appreciation to
the Ripley Lion's Club for

members were in at-
tendence,

Ripley wish to express a
most . sincere ap-
preciation to each of the
Lion's Clubs for a most
delightful occasion.
Wednesday evening,
Nov. 22, a group of
friends and neighbours
from concession 12 Huron
Township gathered at the
home of Doug and Irene
Liddle• in Ripley to spend
a social time with them
and make a presentation
of a swag lamp in ap-
preciation of Doug and
Irene and family as a
neighbour for several
years in the Clarke area.
The presentation was
made by Jim and Marie
MacDonald. The Liddle
family moved into Ripley
earlier this fall.
Mr. and Mrs. John
Langley, Iaian and
Gordon have moved to
New Brunswick where
John is employed. For the
past - four years, they
have lived in the apar-
tment of Mr. - and Mrs.
Clayton Nicholson. Their
Ripley friends wish them
the best in their new
home as they will be.
missed here. They took a
big interest in the church
and A community :life and
all other activities here.
Mr. and Mrs. Don
McCosh returned home..::
They had _an enjoyable'
holiday in . California.
They flew to San Fran-
cisco and visited in
many cities and towns on
down to Los Angeles.
Hollywood, etc.
Weekend visitors with Les
and Dorothy Wardell were
Miss Helen Wardell of Kitch-
ener, Mr. and Mrs. Glen
Wardell, Tena and Vincent of
Tiverton.
