After a two week layoff,
the Lancers took on Fergus
. Sunday night.'The local lads
took a 3 - 1 lead, after one
period, on goals -by Carl
(Curly) Stanley, Gordon
Macintyre and Ian (Monty)
Montgomery. _
The second period was all
Fergus, as they pumped in 8
goals to Lucknow's one,
scored by Carl Stanley.
A {
take thumping
The third period was not a
tot different. Fergus scored 4
goals to Lucknow's one,
which was scored by Andy
Sheddon.
As some of you readers
may recall, there was a small
donnybrook between these
two teams last year. Well,
Sunday night it came close to
happening again, as Luck-
now's Pete Chisholm and
Atoms lose
For the second week in a
row, the Atoms got off to a
slow start.
On Monday night Ripley
came to play and skated to a
well deserved win. Although
the boys played even for two
periods, Ripley owned the
third as they racked up four
unanswered goals to record a
7-3 victory.
On the brighter side, CBC
did have a good points" night.
Lucknow scoring read Brad
Priestap from Chris Irwin,
Brad Priestap from Chris
Irwin and Chris Collyer and
Chris Collyer from Brad
Priestap and Chris Irwin.
On Thursday the boys
travelled to Blyth for a game
against Belgrave. Lucknow
seemed to have many good
scoring - chances, especially
during the second period but
at the break the score
remained '0 - 0.
In the third, more good
passing plays finally paid off
as Chris Irwin was set up for
.a clean break for the game
winner at 9.01. Chris skated
away from his check, deked
to his right and scored a
picture, goal. Less than a
minutlater ,Chris Collyer
added the "insurance marker
to complete the scoring.
Their hard working centre,
Brad Priestap, was held -off
the scoresheet but, was very
prominent on many passing
plays.
Both goalies, Todd Schar-
back and Brian Reavie, play-
ed well, but did not suffer
from overwork, thanks, in
part, to good defensive play.
On Friday night, the boys
"slipped" over to Mildmay
for a match and slow travel
conditions seemed to carry
over into the game. Al-
though, both teams were
•
evenly matched neither
seemed to put it all together.
Mildmay scored at 7.03 of
the first period on a good
pass play from the corner but
that was the scoring for the
game as Todd Scharback-
came up with some big saves
late in the first period cutting
short Mildmay's attack.
First year defensemen
Darren McKim and Jamie
Humphrey played well on the
blue line.
Bantams
win
On Thursday, November
30, Lucknow Bantams travel-
led to Tiverton where they
chalked up another win with
a 11 to 4 score.
Kent Alton led the way
with 4 goals. Glen Raynard
and David .Gibson each scor-
ed 2, Brian Taylor, Paul
Maclntyre. and Gerald Cook,
each scored 1.
Lance Sanderson assisted
on 2 goals. Mike Humphrey
and Don Greer each assisted
•
on one. .
Pee Wees
The Pee Wees played . a
game against Ripley in Luck -
now on Friday night, the
score 'being 4 - 2 for Ripley.
Todd Ritchie got a goal,
assisted by Alex West and
Lynn Murray. Jamie Bere
got the other goal, unassist-
ed in the last few seconds of
Play•
Fergus' Jim Fleming squar-
ed off, not once, but twice, in
a span of 2 or 3 minutes, Pete
was clearly the winner in
both of these fights,
Lucknow's next game is on
Friday, December 8, against
the League leading Goderich
Sailors. The Lancer's next
home game is Sunday, Dec-
ember 10 against Harriston
at 7.30. So, come out and
cheer for the Green Machine.
Midgets
play
"hockey"
Coach Ken Houston mis-
sed a so called game of hock-
ey, as he was down with the
flu, when Lucknow came out
on top of Howick 5 - 2.
In a bush league type
exhibition like this, you
might wonder how much
minor hockey league training
these boys pick up.
Scoring for Lucknow were
Steve MacPherson from Lar-
ry MacPherson; Paul Hamil-
ton from Steve Simpson;
Brad Humphrey from Barry
Elphick; Steve Simpson from
Paul Hamilton and Ed David-
son from Al Rivett.
