Curriculum' BY CATHY CHISHOLM AND LINDA WISSER The preschool children are coming into our school every Tuesday and Thursday for a play time. Kindergarten to Grade 4 -have started to practice nativity scenes for the Christ- mas Concert. All the grades, Kindergarten to Grade 8, are practising for the Christmas Concert to be held on Dec- ember 14th. The Grade 4 students did projects on "Christmas Around the World". The Kingsbridge . Senior Volleyball teams with great enthusiasm are going to the Goderich High- School on Saturday, November 25th for a tournament. We had a truckload of newspapers shipped out to St. Thomas last week. There were too many papers for one truckload so another load is going out this week. The Staff has had several budget meetings to improve the 1979 budget. The School Dance was held on Friday,.. November 24th. • The chaperones were Mrs. Eedy, Mrs. Park, Mrs, Foran and Mrs. Sinnett. The reports will be going into the office this week. On the weekend of Decem- ber 8, 9, and 10th, Mr. Zyluk will be going to Toronto for school business. Next week Junior House League volleyball will be starting. The Senior Boys volleyball will have a tourna- ment in Stratford. In the Basketball Free Throw for boys, Tommy Gil- more placed first in the 11 year old group. Casey Hend- rik placed first in the 12 year old group. Kevin Smith placed first in the 13 year old group. Harry Boyle won first place in the 14 year old group. For the girls, Christ- ine Stapleton won first in the 11 year old group. Denise Connelly won first in the 12 year . old group and Linda Wisser won first place in the 13 year old group. Wednesday was the last day of exams and classes got back to normal Thursday. Report cards will be coming out this week so Good Luck! DANCE A dance was held on Friday, November 17th. Music 'was supplied by Sound System '70. The theme was to wear "Strip- es". There was a good turnout and a small profit was made. Hopefully we'll have just as good a turnout at the Christmas dance. SCHOOL SALES The R.D.S. students will be selling chocolate covered almonds, mixed nuts and poppycock this week. The money made wil go to the Students' Council. Proceeds will go to the Students' Council. The class that sells the most will get a free Kentucky Fried Chicken banquet dinner. Good luck goes to everyone! THEATRE ARTS PLAY On Tuesday, November 21st, Theatre Hour Company, from Toronto came to the school and presented a play called "Polly Honeycombe", to the students: The Dramat- ic Arts class helped Them set up their stage and also take it apart when the play was over. The play was enjoyed by all and - the performers answered any questions be- fore they left. SPORTS Basketball practice has started and the games will be starting soon. Keep in touch - for games coming up and for results. Any spectators are welcome! The Intramural Curling teams have been made up for this year. There is practice this weekand a d the games will be starting next week! LAW CLASS GOES TO COURT The level 315 Law Class travelled to ' Walkerton on Thursday, November 23rd to sk in - on court. The court session in the morning lasted until about 1.00. During this time there were quite a few charges laid and two trials took place. It was very inter- esting for them and hopefully they got a lot out of it! Thanks goes to Mr. and Mrs. Burgess who made it pos- sible for them to go!
