There was a ProfessiQnal Development Day on Mon- day, November 13th at Strat- ford which the teachers at- tended. This year all of the grades K - 8 are participating in the Christmas eoncert and we are preparing for that now. The Kiwanis music festival material has arrived and the classes will soon be studying what is available. We have ten schools that are interested• in the Free Throw Basketball Champion- ship that will be held in Brookside School on Decem- ber 12th. The nurses for vision and hearing from the Clinton Health Unit were in on Friday, November 14th for further testing. Mr. Zyluk was on the John McCarroll, show to talk about the community school that is Celebrate. 50th anniversary The. family and close rela- tives of Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Raynard, gathered at Brook- side School on Saturday evening, November llth for a dinner to honour their parents on their approaching 50th wedding anniversary. Clara Ritchie, daughter of the late Will and Ida (Web- ster) Ritchie, and Nelson Raynard, son of the late Maxwell and Mary Ann. (Webster) Alynard, . were married in Ltickpoyy on Feb ruary 6, 1929. Their attend- ants were the bride's 'sister, Jean (Ritchie) kitiernicic 'and Lloyd Papernick ateened the gathering. After Russell Irvin said grace, about 100 guests' sat down to a smorgasbord din- ner prepar'e'd by the family and served by June Gilchrist, Jessie Kirkland, Sally Ritchie and Beryl Hunter. Douglas, the eldest son, proposed a toast to the bride and groom of 50 years and the three-tier anniversarycake was cut. The other members of the family spoke in Ulm: Dorothy (Mrs. Donald Murray), Lilli- an (Mrs. Russell Irvin), Ruth (Mrs. Fred Shropshall), Bruce and Chris. All 21 grandchildren and the two great granddaughters were present. Following dinner, Nelson and Clara opened their gifts and the rest of the, evening was spent taking pictures, playing cards and visiting. Guests were present from Peterborough, Toronto; tis - towel, London, Aylmer, Kingston, SouthamptOn; Clinton, Molesworth, Tees - water, Goderich and the Lucknow area. 0 .1 RS REST • i N PiECES getting along good for Kings- bridge.
