St. Augustine Roman Catholic Church, St. Augustine on October 7 for the double ring ceretiorry uniting in marriage Marie Kathleen Boyle, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cyril Boyle of St: 'Augustine and Kevi r°Gerard Asmus, son of Mr and Mrs. Warren Asmus of Zurich, .for- merly of Detroit, Michigan. The Rev. Peter G. Proux, friend of the bride and groom, of Chapeau, Quebec assisted the Reverend Father Ed Dentinger, C.R. of Kingsbridge and the Reverend James A. Lammermur of Chatham to concelebrate the Mass. The Reverend L. J. Coughlin of St. Augustine was present in the san- ctuary. Scripture readings during the Mass were read by Michael Boyle of Calgary, Alberta, brother of the bride. The offertory gifts 'were presented by both parents of the bride and groom. Music was supplied by Brian Taillieu and Paul Tratnyck on guitars and Ingrid Wittine on the flute. They are all from London, friends of the bride and groom. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a gown fashioned for her by Mrs. Jan Bernard of Goderich. It .featured an empirewaist with delicate, shim- mering lace bodice, stand up collar and long sheer sleeves with fitted lace cuffs. The A-line skirt of sheer over satin was trimmed With scalloped lace which matched the bodice and fell to a chapel length train. The bride's long Cathedral Weil fell from a wreath of white stephanotis and baby's breath and she carried a silk cascude of white roses, stephanotis and forget-me-nots. The maid of honor, Anne, Boyle, of London, attended her sister in a full length, gown of rust gutahta° _ .knit with full skirt, bloused bodice and "gently . scooped neckline. She carried a silk bouquet of rust roses, daisies and ivory miniature lilies and wore a single daisy in her hair: Bridesmaids were Karen Asmus of Warren, Michigan, sister of the groom; Mary Van Rooy of London, friend of the bride; and Rita Mulhern of Chatham, cousin of the bride. They were gowned identically to the maid of honor and carried •t -he same flowers. Flower girl, Beth Asmus, niece of the groom, wore a long rust coloured dress, with a white eyelet pinafore. She carried a basket of rust and white daisies and wore a smaller version of the bride's wreath in rust forget-me-nots. Best man was John Creces 'of Toronto, friend of the groom, 'and guests were ushered into the church by Wayne Asmus of Hartford, Connecticut,, brother of the groom; Ken Moore of Detroit, friend of the groom; and Joseph Boyle of St. Augustine, brother of the bride. The groom wore a white tie and tails, and white rose bouttonniere and his attendants wore dark brown cutaway tuxedos and rust rose boutonnieres to snatch the bridesmaids' bouquets. The rngbearer, Christopher Regier, nephew of the groom, wore a brown suit and boutonniere similar to the groomsman's. The bride's mother greeted guests for dinner at the Lucknow Corny munity Centre in a full length ivory gown with matching lace jacket and brown accessories. She wore a peach, rose corsage. The groom's mother chose a full-length coral, gown with gold ac- cessories and a matching coral, rose corsage. Michael. Boyle of Calgary, brother of the bride, was Master of Ceremonies at the dinner and Lincoln Green provided music for an open reception. For a wedding trip to Cape Cod on the East Coast, the bride chose to wear a green and rust wool ensemble. The groom chose a three- piece dark beige suit. Mr. and Mrs. Kevin Asmus will make their home in Grosse Pointe Park, Michigan where Mr. Asmus is employed with Tri-State Furniture Company. Prior to the . wedding, showers for the bride were held by her co- workers. from St. Joseph's Hospital in London; Karen Asmus and Mary Faye Regier of Zurich, sisters of the groom; and Mrs. Margaret Phelan of Blyth, aunt of the bride. A community shower was also held by the Catholic Women's League . of St. Augustine. Parties for the ride and -groom were,. given by Kenny and Rene Moore'of Detroit; by .Mrs.. May Mulhern of Chatham and Bernadette Boyle of London, aunts of the bride and by Mary Van Rooy of London, friend of the couple. Candelabra and white and yellow , mums decorated the Lucknow United Church for the October 14th wedding of Janet Mary Anne Alice Rit chie and Albert Dekker; The candlelight ceremony was performed' by Rev. Douglas Kaufman. Organ music was provided by Mrs. Anne"frit- chardr The soloist, Nancy 'Errington,. sang "Ever- green", before the cere- mony, and during the vows "The Wedding Song" and during the signing of the register, "Annie's Song". The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Elizabeth Ritchie and the late Graydon Ritchie of Lucknow. The groom is the son of Mrs. Alberdina Dek- ker of Stayner and the late Harm Dekker. The bride was given in • marriage by her uncle, An- drew Ritchie. She wore a white peau de soie gown designed with empire waist, high neckline and bell sleev- es. The bodice and skirt were trimmed with clusters of lace and the skirt flowed into 'a full train trimmed with the same lace. A Juliet cap held her shoulder -length fingertip veil. She carried a bouquet of red silk roses, baby's breath and ivy. Maid of honour was Miss Bonnie MacLeod of Luk- . now, and bridesmaids were Mrs. Anita Matika of .Wood- stock, Mrs. Janet Riczu of Komoka, friends of the bride and -Mrs. • . Wally Allen of Stayner, sister of the groom. They V wore long matching blue wool skirts and plaid Vests with white crepe blous- es. The attendants carried arm bouquets of blue and white silk roses with winter wheat and blue ribbon. Miss Mary Ann Bolt, niece of the groom, of Kitchener, was flower girl:. She wore a DEKKER - floor length white dress trimmed in blue and carried a basket of white and blue silk roses, with blue velvet ribbon. Mark = Andrew, cousin of the bride, was ring bearer. Groomsman was David Barr of Kitchener, friend of the groom. Theguests were ushered by Dennis :Allen, of Stayner, brother-in-law of the groom, Tom .Andrew. of Lucknow and Calvin Ritchie of Kitchener, both cousins of the bride. They, along with,their ring bearer, wore navy blue tux- edos, with white 'ruffled shirts and a light blue carnation in their lapel, The bride's mother wore a floor length gown of shrimp coloured crepe with a white orchid corsage. The groom's mother chose a floor length gown of mint green crepe with a yellow, orchid corsage. Following the ceremony, the bridal party were enter- tained at the home of the bride's aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Armstrong Wilson. The Lucknow Women's Institute catered to thewed- ding dinner at the Lucknow Community Centre. Master of Ceremonies was Tom Dickson, Port Albert, cousin of'he bride. Dancing followed with music by "Bitter Sweet". The bride and groom were presented with a, gift of ' money by Gary Courtney and Kevin Austin. For a wedding trip , to Toronto, the bride changed On Friday, .October 6, 1978 at Kinloss United Church, Kinloss, Dianne E. Bannerman and Terrence W. Taylor exchanged marriage vows. Rev. Robert Clyde officiated.. The bride is the daughter of Margaret Bannerman and the late Norman. and Grace' Taylor of Lucknow. Janice Stanley, `son .y Harold Bannerman of Kinloss, and the groom is the London; friend of the bade, was maid of honour. Eric Taylor, , Lucknow, friend of the groom, was best mon. Ushers were Nell Taylor, brother of the groom, of Oakville, and Dianne Al- exander, Cargill, friend of the bride. Shannon and Michael Bannerman, niece and nephew of the bride, were lowerglri and ringlatatero Dave Bannerman, !oho Clark, brother of the' bride and Nancy Young, friend of the bride, provided the muaic for the Occasion. Cauchi. ,The bride is .a, graduate of the Medical Secretarial Pro- gram' of Fanshawe College, and prior .to, her marriage was on staff of the Depart- ment of Anaesthesia, Victor- ia Hospital, London, Guests were present from London, Stayner, Colling- wood, Kitchener, Wood- stock, Brussels, Stratford, Wingham, Clinton, Hamilton and Komoka. Honoured guest was Mrs. Kristina Strookappe, of Wijhe. Holland, aunt of the groom. Prior to the wedding the bride and groom were hon- oured of a. dinner party held by the Department of Anaes- thesia. Victoria Hospital, at the home of Dr. and Mrs. J. A. Bain. A community and relative shower was held at the Lucknow United Church and a girl friend shower at the home of Mrs. Janet Riczu of Komoka. Mrs. Andrew Ritchie, aunt of the bride, held open house at her 'home to display the bride's gifts prior to the wedding. After rehearsal the famil- ies and their friends were entertained at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Rit- chie.
