Kent Alton.

and Gerald Cook each had
one assist.
Midgets open with two . wins
The Lucknow Midgets op-
ened the 1978-79 hockey
season with two wins in two
outings.
On November 13 against
Mildmay in Lucknow they
took a 5 - 1 victory and back
in Teeswater the next night
with a 6 5 victory.
Neither of the games
showed the calibre of hockey
that the team played in the
.two exhibition games earlier.
The coaching staff have
pinned it down to the upcom-
ing exam pressure!
Scoring for Lucknow were:
Larry MacPherson, 3 goals, 2
assists; Steve Simpson, 3
goals; Brad Humphrey, 2
goals; Kevin Clarke, 3 as-
sists; Mike Brown, 1. goal, 2
assists; Al Rivett, I goal; Ed
Davidson, 1 goal; Mike Den-
nis, 1 assist.
Next home game is against
Teeswater on November 27
at 8.45.

win over the visiting Mild-
may team:
Brad De Groote led the
scoring with two goals, while
Billy Kinahan had one goal
and one assist. The other
Lucknow goals were scored
by Charles Murray, Paul den
Boer, Sammy Murray and
Brad Murray.
Assists on the goals went
to Kevin de Jong, Kirk
Livingston, Jeff. Gammie,
Rodney Cayley, Matt Rhody
and Joey Weber.
Craig Irwin lost his bid for
the shutout- when he was '
scored on late in the third
period.

Monday, November 13,
Mildmay scored with just
1.42 minutes gone in the .
game and that goal looked as'
if it might be the whole;
game. - However, with 2.57
left in the game, the CBC;.
line tied the game on a
picture goal. Chris Irwin,
scored the goal assisted by

Irwin scored with 57 seconds
left, assisted by 'Chris Col-
lyer, completing a good team
effort in :the third period.
PLAY RIPLEY
On Wednesday, November
15, the Atoms played in
Ripley. Chris Collyer opened
the scoring early, assisted by
Brad' Priestap. Danny Gil-
christ, assisted by Rick Bech-
ard, put the lads twogoals up
and full of confidence.
The Ripley team, who have
not had much ice tire, had
other plans. They battled
back, controlling the second
period and tying the game
before the break.
However, the Lucknow
lads responded to the chal-
lenge with a good third
period. An early goal by Brad
Priestap, assisted by Richard
MacDonald, and a power
play goal by Chris Irwin
completed the scoring. Final
score, Lucknow 4, Ripley 2.
The coach was heard mut-
tering that third period hero-
ics causes grey;hair and short
fingernails -
Skaters
place
Cathy Chisholm, Patti Bar-
ger, John Barger and George
Dierolf,recently- took part in
the Stoney Creek Invitational
Competition at Hamilton.
Cathy placed seventh in her
flight and Patti placed tenth.
John Barger with his part-
ner, Aveleigh Cook of God-
erich, placed third in the
Juvenile Dance contest and
George Dierolf won a silver
medal in the Pre Novice
Men's Class;
Congratulations boys and
girls.
