his parents, Mr. and Mrs.

Mr. and Mrs. Angus Fal-
coner were Sunday visitors
with Mr. and Mrs. Archie
Montgomery of Blyth.

Bob Mowbray visited on
Monday with his brother,
Alex Mowbray, of Lucknow.
Harvey Osborne has this
week to study ' at home
instead of at Knox College,.

Mrs. Harvey Osborne, An-
na and Laura visited last
week withfriends at Tober-
mory on Tuesday and Wed-
nesday.
Whitechurch W.I. made
arrangements for their.. 4-H
club to attend the Royal
Winter Fair by sponsoring a
bus for them. Quite a few
from the village and com-
munity accompanied them.
Lori Purdon has accepted a
position atthe People's Store
at Listowel.
Brookside School on Tues-
day are sponsoring a bus trip
for grade 8 to Toronto where
they will visit the Parliament
Buildings and where they
will see one of their own class
who is now a Page there.
Whitechurch 4-H club on
Monday evening held a
meeting where they prepar-
ed for Achievement Day.

The Education and Cultur-
al Activities meeting of
Whitechurch W.I. was held
at the home of Mrs. Agnes
Farrier. Merle Wilson pres-
ided for the opening exercis-
es. Mrs. Victor Emerson,
assistant secretary, read the
minutes in the absence of
secretary treasurer, Mrs.
Rena Fisher, who is in
University Hospital.
Mrs. James Wilson report-
ed that the Christmas dinner
is to be held at United
Church, Wingham, Monday,
December 4.
It was decided to continue
another year with secret
sisters.
Mrs. Jean McInnes and
Mrs, J. "Conn are to collect
the Christmas dinner money
from members in Wingham
and Mrs. Emerson from
those in Whitechurch.
The motto, The Second
Century Challenge to Worn -
en, was given by Mrs. James
Wilson.
Mrs. 'Agnes Farrier gave
the report of the Grey -Bruce
Area Convention held Octob-
er 11 and 12 at Southampton.
The theme was "Learn and
Grow". Chairmen 'for the
sessions were Mrs. Francis •
Gemmell, Mrs. Kenneth
Spence and Mrs. Harold
McArthur. The pianist was
Mrs. Maurice Gowanlock
and song leader, Mrs. Broad -
foot.
Mrs. Helen Currie gave a
Demonstration of Star Weav-
ing with 20 stars of different
sizes. The weaving is done
on dowel sticks. All those
present made a star of wool.
Mrs. James Wilson gave
courtesy remarks. Mrs. John
Gaunt, Mrs. J. Conn and
Mrs. Agnes Farrier served
lunch. ,
Miss Jane Laidlaw R.N.
arrived home last Monday
from Brandon. In the future
she will be working at
Victoria Hospital, London.
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Moss
of Plattsville spent the week-

ed celebrate her 4 -year-old
great grandson's birthday.
