It was a week when old men sat at their bedrooms, staring out of the window and were not looking at the world. They remem- bered. It was a week for all who heard the planes over head and felt the ground shake beneath their feet. They too remembered. A young child . pulled on its mothers coat and wanted to know why there was a silence, the silence we all take for granted. People stood at the town cenotaph or gathered in a small hall to remember those -who died for peace. On November 11 at approximately 11:00 a.m., millions of people bowed their heads in silence and remembered.
