The November meeting
was opened with the League
prayer led by Fr.' Dentinger.
President Pat Howard chair-
ed the meeting.
Minutes of the :October
meeting were approved as
read by Clarice Dalton. Mary
Clare gave the treasurer's
report.
Karla Hogan read thank
you cards from Fr. Dentinger
and Dave and Virginia Caes-
ar, also an appeal from the
Madonna House Apostalate.
Correspondence from "Save -
a -family" plan in India des-
cribed' how a $25 donation
would pay for a goat given to
a needy family for Christ-
mas. Grace Austin motioned
that a donation be sent and a
donation is to be sent to
Madonna House on a motion
by Clarice Dalton.
Betty Doherty called the
roll.
CULTURAL LIFE
Tina Van Diepen reported
that she and Grace Austin
had packed 39 boxes for
Madonna House.
A very successful Hallow-
e'en party was hosted by the
C.W.L. for the youngsters of
the parish on Sunday after-
noon.
CHURCH LIFE
Anne Berry thanked those
participating in the offertory
procession and announced'
the upcoming mass for the
sick of the parish.
A 50th wedding anniver-
sary gift will be presented to
Mr. and Mrs. Rosinke.
Irene Gilmore reported
four birthday greetings and a
card of congratulations to be
sent this month.
Some young mothers of
the parish under the leader-
ship of Rochelle Champaign

are starting play time for
three and four year olds at
St. Joseph's School; Anne
Berry made a motion that the
League make a donation to
the play time.
Irene—Gilmore and Rita
Howard will purchase the
Christmas gifts for the sick
and shut-in.
Rochelle Champaign gave
a comprehensive report of
the deanery meeting she
attended with Rita Howard,
Tina Van Diepen and Irene
Gilmore.
PRO LIFE
The -annual dinner meeting
of Goderich Pro-life was held
in Goderich with Rev. M.
Barz of Berea -by -the -Water
Lutheran Church, Goderich,
as guest speaker.
The Legue is sharing the
cost of T.V. ads to be aired
this fall.
Dr. Peter Bolland of Mis-
sissauga and Kingsbridge
held the winning ticket on
the quilt.
Grace Austin thanked
those who supported M.P.P.
John Sweeney's private
member's bill to cut the
number of abortions being
performed in Ontario which
was vetoed in the Legisla-
ture. Grace Austin and Clar-
ice Dalton will prepare a
resulution concerning abor-
tion to be presented to the
diocesan C.W.L.
Fr. Dentinger thanked the
league for the generous don-
ation for church repairs. He
remarked on the enjoyment
of hearing the bells ring out
again. He said that it was not
feasible to have mass at
Pinecrest.
Fran Reigling .. reported
that with 35% of C.N.I.B.
returns in, she had received

Fran took the opportunity
to congratulate Grace .Austin
on her questions, concerning
school books, put to school
trustee Marian Zinn at the
Ashfield Ratepayers' meet-
ing.
Tina Van Diepen motioned
the meeting be adjourned.
Fr. Dentinger closed the
meeting with prayer. Lunch
and a social hour followed.

non on the death of Kathy's
grandfather, John Forsyth of
R. 2 Holyrood.
Mrs. Jack Wilson of Ham-
ilton was Sunday dinner
guest with Mr. and Mr -s.
Fraser MacKinnon and Mur-
ray.
Visiting with Mr. and Mrs.
Leo Murray and family on
the weekend were Mr, and
Mrs. Leo O'Connor, Mary
Lou and Shellia of Detroit.
A successful Faith and
Fellowship service was held
on Sunday evening at. the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Frank
MacKenzie.
Visiting with Mr. and Mrs.
David MacKinnon and family
was Judy Lackey of Calgary,
Alberta.
Mr. and Mrs. Ray Buch-
pieier and Carol and Mrs.
Stewart MacGillivray visited
on Sunday in Elmira with
Mr. and Mrs. Ron MacGilliv-
ray.

KURRICULUM
REPORTERS:

DENISE CONNELLY
Grade 7 and 8 students
have been working on entries
for the Legion poem and
essay contest for Remem-
brance Day.
The Remembrance Day
Program was Friday at 2.00
p.tn. Everyone participated
by songs and readings. The
Knights of Columbus pres-
ented each student with a pin
"One Canada" with a pict-
ure of the Canadian flag on
it.
Mrs. Melba Park supplied
in the Grade 3 and 4 room on
Thursday afternoon while
Mrs. Nancy Park was at a
Music meeting.
Grade 5 and 6 hosted the
First Friday Mass for Nov-
ember. They sang "WE'll
know we are Christians by
our love".
On November 22nd the
health nurse will be visiting
the Primary Grades to speak
on nutrition.
Also on Friday, November'
10th Constable Bill Wilson
was at our school and he
presented a program on
Safety, to the Primary Grad-
es and on "Shoplifting" to
the Intermediate and Senior
Grades. He also answered
questions.
Yellow won the House
League volleyball champion-
ship on November 8th. ,
Mr. Zyluk is drganizing
the K of C baslcetball free
throw tournament which is to
be held at Brookside School.
