a workshop on Saturday at
Toronto for Ukeleles.
Mrs. Edna Casemore of
Brantford was a Sunday
caller on Mr. and Mrs.
Donnie Morrison and family,
Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Morri-
son and Mr. and Mrs. Victor
Emerson.
Sympathy is extended
from this community to Mrs.
John Wraith, Eldon and Rod
in the sudden death of John
Wraith.
Mr. and Mrs. John Murray
and Harry of Sharon spent
the weekend with Mrs. Char-
les Tiffin of Wingham and on
Sunday all called on Mr. and
Mrs. Fred Tiffin and Mr. and
Mrs. Victor Emerson.
On Friday this community
was shocked to learn that
Mrs. Rena Fisher of Wing -
ham had been taken to Wing -
ham Hospital and sent on to

attended the general meet-
ing of Stratford music assoc-
iation local 418. After the
meeting Mr. and Mrs. Tiffin
attended the annual ladies'
night banquet and entertain-
ment for music and guests
held at Victorian Inn,
Stratford.
Mr. and Mrs. Stewart
Smith ' of Kitchener were
guests on Sunday with Mrs.
.Ella Johnston of Wingham.
Mack. Inglis of Highgate
spent the weekend with his
brother, Tom Inglis of West
Wawanosh.
Wedding bells were ring-
ing loudly in Whitechurch on
the weekend when Gayle
Rintoul of the village was
married to Bradley Speiran
of Brussels East on Friday
evening at 7 Ran. at Ripley
by Rev. Hugh Nugent. On
their return they were greet-
ed by the immediate rela-
tives of both families. The
community extends best
wishes for a long and happy
wedded life.
Harvey Osborne who had
last week at his home here
for study returned to Knox
College on Monday.
WHITECHURCH U.C.W..
On Wednesday, November
1 at 2 p.m. Whitechurch
U.C.W. met at the home of
Mrs. Fred Tiffin. Mrs. Mil-
lan Moore opened the meet-
ing with two anecdotes of
Hallowe'en experiences of
local families from the book
Remembrance Farm. Mrs.
Muriel Thompson read the
scripture. Mrs. Lorne Durnin
accompanied the hymns on
the auto harp.
Mrs. Millan Moore read an
article Laying the blame on
the fire from an Observer,
and led in prayer. Mrs. Lorne
Durnin and Mrs. Moore took
turns in giving information
from the Mandate concern-
ing Rhodesia and theprob-
lems as these bring us to
Remembrance Day. Mrs.
Moore gave information on
various islands in the Carri-
bbean. •She also gave a
geography lesson on South
America. She also conducted
quiz.
Mrs. ' Muriel Thompson
closed the meeting with
prayer. The Travelling Bask-
et then made its rounds.
WATERWORKS MEETING
The second Whitechurch
Water meeting was held
Thursday evening in White-
church Community Memorial
Hall. The secretary, Mrs.
Dave Gibb, opened the meet-
ing and asked that a chair-
man be elected. Walter
Elliott was nominated.
Nominations were called
for a president to fill out Bill
Evan's term. Mrs. Lorne
Durnin was elected and
presided for the rest of the
meeting. Maintenance men
are Dave Gibb, Alex Craig
and Cecil Little It was
decided to fix a pump sitting
idle. Directors are Mrs.. Bill
Gibson, Walter Elliott
(church representative), Tom
Davidson, Bill Evans and
Valetta Emerson.
Mrs. Alice Moore offered
to collect the water samples
and take them to Mrs. Dave
Gibb to deliver to Wingham.
Each home owner was
asked to make their own shut
off valve for the winter.
WHITECHURCH 4-H
On Saturday afternoon
Whitechurch 4-H club
Goodie Chew Chews held a
party in the hall to which
they invited the officers of
the Institute and their moth-
ers. 4-H president, Miss
Janet Laidlaw, opened the
meeting and was pianist for
the opening pledge. An
orchestra of Janet Laidlaw,
playing clarinet, Karen
'Young, playing trombone,
Caryn Nicolson, playing
trumpet, and Sandra Irwin,
playing drum was enjoyed.
. Miss Mary Moore gave a
reading.
A true and false contest on
cooking was given by Lori
Jamieson. Miss Kendra Pur -
don gave a poem. Misses
Janet Laidlaw and Vickie
Scott sang accompanied by
Mrs. Agnes Farrier. Faye
Irwin gave a reading. Lorie
Purdon conducted a true or
false contest on facts about
the 4-H. Miss Janet Laidlaw
gave • a piano solo, and the
courtesy remarks. Miss
Merle Wilson, president of
the W.I. thanked the 4-H for
inviting the W.I. executive.

Kinloss students who gradu-
ated on Friday night at the
commencement at F. E.
Madill. Wayne Bell received
the Alexander MacKenzie
Scholarship Award.
Mrs. Peter Leeson of El-
mira was. a Sunday visitor
with. Mrs. Olive Needham.
A number of ladies from
this area attended the Kin -
lough Anglican Church baz-
aar on Saturday.
Mrs. Howard Thompson of
Purple Grove and Mrs. Olive
Needham spent a few days in
Kitchener last week.
Mr. and Mrs. Bob Small of
Hanover visited on Sunday
with Mr. and Mrs. Jim Burt
and Rob.
Rev. and Mrs. Munshaw
and Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd
MacDougall were dinner
guests at the home of Mr.
and Mrs. Jack Needham.
They planned the .Faith and
Fellowship meeting to be
held at the home of Mr. and
Mrs. Frank MacKenzie on
Sunday night. Also present
were Mrs. Grace Farrish and
Bernie Sanders.
Mr. and Mrs. Clare Mac-
Dougall of Port Credit visited
with Mr. and Mrs. Jack
Needham enroute to Florida.
Many area residents at-
tended the Goderich Band
Concert at the Lucknow
School on Saturday night.
This was put on by Lucknow
School Band.
