The .Lucknow Legion Ladies 'Auxiliary held a bazaar, bake sale.
and tea in the Legion on Saturday afternoon to raise money
for their projects In the coming year. During the afternoon
draws were made with the following winners: Mrs. Jack
Dahmer, R. 4 Kincardine, an afghan; Vera Hastings,
Brussels, a mat, and Marlene MacDonald, Lucknow,

On Monday evening, the
Lucknow Canadian Girls In
Training group welcomed
five new members, Janice
McInnes, Mandy Miller,
Kim Sanderson, Janice Cook
and Brenda Davies. Presid-
ent, Bonnie Clarke, welcom-
ed mothers of new members
and introduced leaders of the
group, Laurie Clarke, Mary
Lynn Cayley, Bernice Davies
and Laura Lee Cayley.
The new members ex-
plained the meaning of the
four parts of the C.G.I.T.
Purpose ending with prayer.

The November meeting of
South Kinloss W.M.S. was
held at the home of Mrs.
Leonard Clarke.
The president, Mrs. Philip
Steer, opened the meeting
with the reading of a poem.
The first part of the
meeting was a Remembrance
Day service led by Mrs.
Bruce Hamilton. Mrs. Harry
Lavis read Psalm 23. Mrs.
Evan Keith read the poem
"Remembrance Day". A
minutes silence followed in
memory of those who had
fallen in two World Wars.
The scripture and medita-
tion on Joseph was given by
Mrs. Herb Buckton.
The study book was given
by Mrs. Bruce Hamilton; the
topic being Planning and
Structure of making Mission
Happen. A most interesting
discussion followed.
The courtesies were given
by Mrs. Herb Buckton and
the closing prayer by ,Mrs.
Alex MacLeod. -
A social half hour followed
lunch served by the hostess
and directors, Mrs. Bruce
Hamilton and Mrs. Herb
Buckton.

residents decided to take
another drive to Wingham in
the van to see the Plowing
Match site before it was torn
down. Some were not feeling
up to it the Wednesday

On October 3, the Roman
Catholics had communion in
the Activity Room with Mike
Cummins, Elizabeth Dalton,
Ed Gilmore, Mame Higgins,
Eleanor Kelly, Lois Wamsley
and John MacKinnon pres-
ent.

Protestant faith. on October
5. Many were present and
others had communion 'in
their, rooms. On Thanksgiv-
ing weekend many were out
to dinners and suppers with
friends and relatives. Those
going out for visits were Gib
Hamilton, Elsie Haney,
LOuisana Darby, Wm. Steer
and Dr. Anna Wright.
October 10 was a very busy
. Tuesday. The Catholic Wom-
en's League of Lucknow held
their. meeting at the Manor
and the Lucknow' United
}Church ladies, Unit 1 came to
sing and play cards, visit and
' take some of the residents for
"rides. That evening the
Kinettes took a van load of
residents to see the coloured
leaves of autumn.

Lucknow Junior Women's
Institute entertained at the
monthly birthday party. The
residents celebrating birth-

The pastor of Pentecostal
Church, Kinlough, spoke to
the residents on October 19
and members of their con-
gregation sang hymns.
On October 27 some little
Hallowe'en spooks visited
and sang songs. The resid-
ents. found out later they
were Brownies.
The Lucknow Christian
Reformed Church made their
monthly visit for a worship
service on October 29.
On October 30 Lucknow
United Church Women, Unit
2 carne to entertain.
On October 31, the Luck -
now Kindergarten morning
class visited in their Hallowe-
'en Costumes.
It was so nice to see all the
little ones at Hallowe'en, It
brought back many menor•
les of when we were young.
The residents are glad the
Davies presented each new
member with her pin and
membership card. The group
joined in the Purpose. Verse
and hymn. Vice-president
Christy Davies led the sing
song.
Special guests Margaret
and Norma Maclntyre pres-
ented a program on listening
by having girls practise and
record listening skillss in
small groups, by , presenting
a skit and by giving examples
of listening from the Bible.
The girls in pairs did short
skits on good and poor listen-
ing and played a fun animal
game. The meeting closed
with Taps.
ST. HELENS W.I.
The St. Helens Women's
Institute met in the hall on
November 2 for their Cura-
tor's' meeting.
Mrs. Robert Aitchison, 1st
vice-president, welcomed the
ladies. Mrs. James Aitchison
and Mrs. Keith Tyler gave
the secretary and assistant
secretary's reports.
A Remembrance Day Ser-
vice will be held in the hall on
November 12.
The motto was given by
Mrs. Gordon McPherson.
She encouraged everyone to
prepare a "House Log" for
their own home.
The topic on "Old Time
Remedies" and Almanac Re-
cipes was prepared by Miss
Beatrice McQuillin and given
by Mrs. Ivan Clarke.
A reading on a "Peanut
Butter Sandwich in 1878 was
:'read by Mrs. Ernest Gaunt.
Miss Isobel Miller gave a
reading. Lunch was served
by Mrs. Helen Todd and
Mrs. William Purdon.

The Afternoon Auxiliary of
the W.M.S. met in the
Presbyterian Church on Nov-
ember 1st. Mrs. Morgan
Henderson presided and op-
ened the meeting reading a
Thanksgiving poem. Mrs. J.
Smith led in prayer, and
Mrs, Noble Johnston took
the. Bible Study, .a Remem-
brance Day Message, He
maketh wars to cease.
In reply to a letter from
Ewart College, there was a
motion to send $50.00 and
$25.00 to the Leprosy Mis-
sion,
Mrs. W. Porteous asked
for donations for the bale.
Mrs. M. Henderson invited
the ladies to meet ir. her
home for the December
meeting.
Mrs. Mowbray gave the
Glad Tidings review. Mrs. R.
MacDonald and Mrs. Crow-
ston were appointed on the
nominating committee.

Mission Study on the Ain
and Purpose of the W.M.S.,

should we do.
Mrs. Laidlaw closed the
meeting with prayer.
