Joan MacTavish and Alex-
ander Ernest Pollock were
united in marriage at St.
Andrews United Church;
Ripley by Rev. Jim Bushell.
Marg is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Donald Mac-
Tavish, Ripley and Sandy is
the son of Mr. and Mrs.
Wallace Pollock, R. R. 2
Ripley.
Jean MacDonald, sister of
the bride, was matron of
honour. JoannePollock, sist-
er of the groom, Kim Coiling
and Marianne Irwin, friends
of the bride, were bride -
maids. Kira Liddle, niece of
the bride, was flower girl.
Larry Irwin, friend of the
groom, was best man. Ush-
ers were David Coiling,
friend of the groom, Mike
Pollock, brother of the
groom, and Barry Pollock,
cousin of the groom.
Marg MacKay, accompan-
ied Ruth Johnston as she
'sang "The Wedding Song"
and "You Light Up My
Life".
Following the dinner in the
church parlour, an open
reception was held at the
Ripley Complex.
The couple are now resid-
ing in Kitchener.

The nice fall weather is
still with us and last Friday
about 600 wild geese were
reported to have been seen
flying around Listowel. They
appeared to have lost their
sense of direction and were
just circling around.
Mr. and Mrs. Chester
Pinnell of Mildmay visited
with Mr. and Mrs. Clifford
Young last Monday.
The Kinloss Brownies held
their Hallowe'en Party in the
gym at Kinloss Central
School last Thursday after
school hours.
Sacrament service was
held at the Whitechurch
Presbyterian Church Sunday
morning with Rev. Nugent of
Ripley in charge. Three
babies were baptized during
the service, Kevin Wayne
Rintoul, Michelle Lynn Laid-
law and Stewart William Rin-
toul. Karen Young joined the
church. The regular meeting
of the Young , Peoples was
held in the manse on Sunday
evening.
The Teeswater Homemak-
ers 4-H club are holding their
Hallowe'en party at the
home of Joanne and Chris-
tine Bregman on Thursday
evening.
A surprise birthday party
was held at the home of Mrs.
Ethel Holmes in Wingham
Friday evening on the occa-
sion of her birthday and also
of her cousin, Wesley
Young's birthday. They are
both the same age although
Wesley's is earlier in the
year. Guests present were
Mrs, Ethel Holmes, Mr. and
Mrs. Gordon Wall, Mr. and
Mrs. Wallace Richardson,
Mrs. May Richardson, all of
Wingham; Mr. and Mrs.
Clarence Stokes of Ingersoll;
Mr. and Mrs. John Brown
and Wayne of Gorrie; Mr.
and Mrs. Ed Wightman of
Belgrave; Mr. and Mrs.
Wesley Young of Lucknow;
Cormick Armstrong of Tees-
water
eeswater and Mr. and Mrs.
Clifford Young and William
of Langside.
The evening was spent
playing euchre. Winners
were men's high, Wayne
Brown; ladies' high, May
Richardson; low prizes were
won by Wallace Richardson
and Ethel Holmes with lucky
draw prize going to Edna
Young. A bountiful lunch
was then served ending with
birthday cake and ice cream
after which Ethel and Wesley
were presented with gifts,
cards and best wishes and a
social time was enjoyed.
Mr. and Mrs. Len Cough-
lin and family were dinner
guests with Mr. and Mrs.
Clifford Young on Sunday
and their girls who had spent
part of the weekend there
returned home with them.

The ,dance survey from
Grade 7 and 8 parents has
been counted and the results
are 26 to 5 in favour of having
dances, Some parents have
not responded and this
counts as no. Please respond
if you are a Grade 7 or 8
parent.
Mrs. Nancy Park has been
teaching the school Hallow-
e'en songs and we are start-
ing to practice for the Christ-
mas Concert. Mrs. Melba
Park was supply teaching for
Grade 7 and 8 while Mrs.
Joanne McDonagh attended
an Impact meeting, in Dublin.
The Junior and Primary
grades are practicing for a
soccer tournament on Octob-
er 28th at Saint Columban.
Mrs. McDonagh is coach for
Junior Girls and Mr. Zyluk is
coach for Junior Boys. Shawn
Durnin and Michael Austin
are coaches for the mixed
primary team.

Speaking of another plot near Oshawa,
James Dickison said, "The standability of T800
seems to be as good as the later Trojan hybrids
— and I've always found they have excellent
standability.
"I'm looking forward to
seeing the results this
harvest," he said.
