Aubrey's Observations
CONTINUED FROM P. 6
what was possible in the future.
Five men who skimmed over the edge
of any trouble. Now I can restrain
myself no longer.
These men have been approached on
many subjects. What does it take to
make them work as a body, and
consider the electors the people that
they P
represent?
I make no apologies, but .I do have a
deep • concern for the electors of
Lucknow, that they put a body of men
into office, who will work together for
the future of Lucknow as a prosperous
thriving town.
Why do we sit quietly by and let an
industry such as Silverwoods move out.
They had all the equipment here and a
great deal of their products came from
south and west,of here.
Perhaps a little influence, such as a
tax cut
and someone quick

tongue could have kept them here and
their finished .product would have been
trucked out of town, instead of being
brought back in.
Young man, the opportunity is still
here, if you go after it. I came into this
place in a wheelchair unable to dress
myself, but a great number of you know
what happened.
It took a lot of will power and guts but,
now 1 can walk down town and back.
If some of the men in this town were
willing to put that kind of determination
into a business, there is not the slightest
doubt that this could be made into a
thriving spot, instead of letting every-
thing go to surrounding towns, that are
growing rapidly.
Especially, if we had a counciland a
reeve who would plan for the future and
start the ball rolling. Otherwise, in a
very few years, there will be nothing,
but a great number of older homes and
a es
sewage ewa a bill.
