The Fall Rally of the.
Zone No; 9 Senior Citizens
of Lake Huron District
met in Ripley in the
Township HO pn
Tuesday, October 24.
Twelve Clubs were
represented with a total
attendance of .oyer 80.
During "the day one club'
representative . gave a
short report, on their
summer activities.
A short devotional
period was conducted by
Mrs. John A. Robinson of
Kincardine. Mr. George
Tranter, Reeve of Ripley
brought greetings, A
welcome from the host
club of Ripley was given
by Mrs. Wm. Arnold. She
mentioned some of the
more recent changes in
Ripley which have made
life more pleasant for its
Senior Citizens. She
finished by referring to a
recent copy of a Royal
Bank letter entitled
Creative Retirement.
Some American
psychologists have found
that the mind does not
achieve its fullest powers
until the age of'60.
Short reports were
given by Mr. Fred Oehm,
•vice-president, Mrs.
Hildred Nelson,
secretary; Mrs. Henry
Ilebrun, treasurer; Mr.
Bud Bitton of the
Ministry of Culture and
Recreation. Mr. Howard
Latch of Palmerston,
Field Representative for
LLS.C.O., mentioned hover

Dr, Susan Boron gave a
most. informative , ad-
dress. Her topic 'was
Drugs and their Reac-
tions, especially as they
applied to Seniors: She
talked about many drugs
used by seniors and
answered many
questions. She stressed
the need to consult with
your doctor before taking
any drugs, because some
combinations of drugs
can be dangerous.
It was the respon-
sibklity of the Ripley Club
to provide the program
which consisted of
singing games, sing -song
and musical numbers
provided by Mrs. Les.
Wardell, Mrs. Kirk-
patrick, Mrs. John, A.
MacDonald. Pianist for
the day was Mrs. Roy
MacKenzie.
