BY VALETTA EMERSON Mr, and Mrs.. Bill Evans were Sunday visitors. with his. son, Eric, and Mrs. Evans and family of Hyde. Park and attended anniversary servic- es there, Miss R. Helwig of Kitch- ener spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Harvey. Osborne and family. Bob Jamieson celebrated his birthday with a party of school chums on Wednes- day. Mr, and Mrs, Elgin John- ston and Robert visited with friends at, Collingwood on Wednesday. This community extends Mrs. .Elliott of Wingham their sincere sympathy in the passing of her sister, Mrs. Galbraith,,and to Mr: and Mrs. Walter Elliott and family in the passing of their aunt. This community is sorry to learn that George ' Webster on Tuesday, October 24, enters University Hospital, London, to have hip surgery. His many friends wish him a speedy recovery. Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Campbell of Kitchener on the arrival at Kitchener Hospital on Mon- day, October 23 of a baby girl. Mr. and Mrs. Neil Rintoul, Steven, .Scott and Stuart of West Wawanosh, spent the weekend at the cottage at Orillia. Mrs. Ben McClenaghan spent the .weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Murray Granville of Greenoch. -Mr. and Mrs. Carl McClenaghan spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Doug Baird of Cayuga. CHALMERS C.O.C. Chalmers • Presbyterian Church C.O.C. held their October meeting Sunday in the basement of the church. The president Lianne Young opened ,the meeting and gave the call to worship. The scripture was read by Kendra Purdon. 'Brian Ross led, in prayer. The minutes were read by secretary Joanne de . Boer. The birthday calendar was marked by Andy and Linda Versteeg. The offering was received by Bethany Osborne and dedicated .by Donald Irwin. The junior story was given by.Mrs. Archie Purdon. The senior story was given by Mrs. Hugh Simpson. , Mrs. Simpson gave the closing prayer. WHITECHURCH 4-11 The fourth meeting of Whitechurch Goodie Chew Chews was held at the home of Mrs. Archie Purdon. Lori Ann Jamieson read the minutes. The discussion . was . on pointers for good tea bis- cuits. Lori Purdon demon- strated under mixed tea biscuits. Lori -Ann Jamieson demonstratedover mixed tea biscuits. Mrs. Elliott did wheat germ biscuits, with cheese and bacon. Creamy ham and mushroom supper were demonstrated by Faye Irwin All sampled the dishes deinonst-rated :: WHITECHURCH W.M.S. Munshaw, Lucknow Presbyterian Church. Her topic was Thankfulness. Mrs, Don. Ross thanked Mrs. Munshaw and presented her with a gift. Mrs. Bill Rintoul gave the courtesy remarks. Mrs. Vict- or, Emerson closed the meet- ing with prayer. WHITECUURCH W.I. Whitechurch W.I. held their Agriculture and Canad- ian Industries meeting on Tuesday, October 17 in the Memorial Hall. The president, Merle Wil- son, presided, giving a welcome to the members and invited guest branches, St. Helens and Maitland. The secretary, Mrs. Rena Fisher, ., read the minutes. Bruce County Rally is. being held on Thursday at Sauble. The delegates are Mrs. Rena Fisher and Mrs. Lewis.
