Page 20-Lucknow Sentinel, Wednesday, October 11, 1978 Mrs. Betty O'Donnell and Austin, Lucknow, spent Sun- day in Corunna and attended the baptism of Dale Thomas, born September 12th to Tom and Arlene O'Donnell. ' Mr. and Mrs. Mansel Napper, Hailabury were vis- itors with Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Houston on Wednes- day of last week. Mr. John J. Hogan, North Carrington, North Dakota, has been visiting with his aunt, Mrs. Mary Hogan, Lucknow, and other other relatives in the area. Mrs. Wm. Dougherty of Guelph and Mr. and Mrs. Alexander Potter of George- town were recent visitors with° Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Rice. Julie and Debbie Nichol- son visited on Sunday with Leisa and Adrian Rau while their parents accompanied their grandmother, Gladys Reed to St. Catharines to celebrate Mrs. Reed's 70th birthday with her family, Attend March of Dimes The Central Western Ont- ario Branch Board of the Ontario March of Dimes held its annual meeting in Kitch- ener on October 3. Mrs. Bernice Davies and Mrs. Laura Lee Cayley attended as delegates from Lucknow. Guest speaker for the evening was Elaine Towns- hend of Clinton. Elaine is a freelance writer and column- ist.'Her column Odds N'Ends appears in four weekly news - papers. Because Elaine was born without arms, her accomplishments are quite amazing. She lives alone, has been driving an especially adapted car for five years and is even doing some photography. With the help of a few people, Elaine started Alpha Huron (Aawareness League Physically Handicapped Ad- • ults) two and a half years ago. Those attending were Joan Robinson, Sadie Hamilton, Evelyn Barkwell, Susan Mc- Naughton, and Ida Howald, all of Lucknow.
