The second meeting of
Whitechurch 4-H was held at'
the 'home of leader Mrs.
Walter Elliott on October 4.
The president Janet Laid-.
law opened the meeting. Lori
Ann Jamieson read the
minutes.
The girls chose the name
"Whitechurch Goodie Chew
Chews".
Faye Irwin demonstrated
Energy Squares. Mrs. Elliott.
demonstrated Healthy Pea-
nut Loaf. Mrs. Purdon dis-
cussed Breakfast - What's
in it for me?
All sampled the Energy
Squares and Peanut Loaf.
Thanksgiving guests with
Mr. and Mrs. R. Lewis and
family on Sunday were Mr.
and Mrs. Tom Miller, Palm-
erston, Mr. and Mrs. Bill
Empey, Auburn, Mr. and
Mrs. Empey 'Sr. and Ken,
Auburn, Mr. and Mrs. Fred
Lewis, Mrs. Earl Caslick,.
Wingham and Mr. and Mrs.
Ron Coultes.
Mrs. John Moore left for
her home at Ottawa on
Saturday. Their house furn-
ishings had left on Friday by
van. Prior to leaving Mrs.
Moore was presented with a
gift from the card club.
Mr. and Mrs. Eric Evans
of Hyde Park were Sunday
Thanksgiving 'visitors with
his parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Bill Evans, and her mother,
Mrs. Donaldson, of Brucelea
Haven, Walkerton.
On Saturday Mr. and Mrs.
Wesley Tiffin and Mrs.
Robert Mowbray and Mrs.
George Tiffin of Lucknow
went to Detroit to celebrate
Mr. and Mrs. Elgin Purdon's
50th wedding anniversary.
On the way home they visited
with Mr. and Mrs. hector
Purdon at Strathroy and
with Mr. and Mrs. Hugh
McMillan of Watford arriv-
ing home on Tuesday.
Whitechurch was well rep-
resented Wednesday even-
ing at the Belgrave banquet.
A class of 8 ladies was held
last week at the home of Mrs.
Wallace Milligan for the
Workers for Home Support
program and Child Abuse.
Two of those ladies will be
chosen kit the Family and
Childrens Service. The
Homemakers wish to thank
the „neighbours for parking
facilities and picnic tables.
Mr. and Mrs. Walter
Shortreed of Seaforth and
Miss Carol Shortreed of
Toronto were Sunday visitors
with Mr. and Mrs. Elgin
Johnston and family of
Turnberry.
We are pleased to report
that Mrs. Jean McInnes was
able to return home on
Thursday from Wingham
Hospital.
Wilford Clipperton, Mr.
and Mrs. Fred Tiffin visited
Thursday to Saturday with
Mrs. Margaret Cousins of
Thorndale and all attended
Simcoe Fair on Friday and
Saturday.
Mr. and Mrs. Nelson
Smith of Markham spent the
holiday weekend with Mr.
and Mrs. Russell Chapman,
Mr. and Mrs. Gary Dun-
can of Toronto visited on the
weekend with her parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Millan Moore.

Whitechurch U.C.W. held
their meeting on Wednesday
at Mrs. Muriel Thompson's.
Mrs. Agnes Farrier open-
ed the meeting with a piano
solo. Mrs. Fred Tiffin gave
the call to worship. Mrs.
Fred Tiffin gave a Thanks-
giving poem, and the scrip-
ture. Mrs. Wardrop gave a
