It's Not Easy To Raise Children Today
There are a lot of pressures on parents right now that
make it very difficult to do the lob they'd like to do in
providing for their children. It's never been easy to do
it well and probably never will be, but it is possible, by
spending a little time, to help children lead a better
life and to increase your own satisfactlon,as a parent.
The normal stresses and psoWems of growing up can
become extremely ups tine problems for the whole
family where the relationships of family members to
each other ore not satisfying.
When children become upset and disturbing, .or aren't
slotting along as well as parents want them to, and
they have oiready done the things that worked well.
enough with other children, It's hard to know what to
do next.'

Holyrood Happenings
BY LYNNE NICOLSON
It's International Plowing
Match week and according to
the r adio it is not . going to
be a rubber boots and
raincoats match either.
Let's . hope they are right
because there are many
people looking forward to it.
High. Schools are getting out
early for the week and some
public schools will be going
to the match with their
classes on field trips. The
Lucknow. School Band will be
playing at the match this
week too, so it looks •as if
many communities are get-
ting really involved.
A small mishap occurred
at Kinloss Central School last
Wednesday morning. Fort-
unately it did not end in
disaster. Joanne. Murray,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C.
Murray, R. R. 1 Holyrood,
was standing near the buses
after getting off her own bus
when one of the other buses
accidentally hit Joanne as it
left the school grounds.
Joanne received a few bruis-
es to her face and arm.
The Recreation Committee
of Kinloss held a meeting on
Thursday, September 21st to
discuss wrapping up the
summer program. Weather
permitting, the committee
hope to hold a baseball, game
between the giris's baseball
team and the rest of the
children of the community,
as well as any adults that
would like to participate.
After the game a• pot luck
supper will be held.
Thought• for the week: To
avoid criticism, Say nothing,
do nothing, be nothing.
